I got the 155mm clarification from:
Pulley Saver Kit Waldig NeedsWings C32

I was merely 'standing on the shoulders of giants' with those calculations...props to the brave men that led the way. I just plugged the numbers into excel. Thanks to TOM2112 especially.

Now it seems we have to go look at the threads related to SC MAX RPM and what happens when you stack pulley mods! Good Lord.

Wonder how much the new pulley will be. <$500?

I just measured my stock pulley and it is 6.080" at the top/outside of the belt grooves. That makes 6.080*25.4=154.432mm.

Perhaps a factor for them in deciding to make a 65mm (in addition to the safety factor) is the ability of keeping a market for their 181's & 185's. ?? I would sure buy a 63 though; today!

Some of the fastest cars here are with the Code3. Having boost build so much quicker with the 181 makes some interesting problems with closed loop fueling. I can get 10+ psi right at 2000 rpms with small throttle openings. This keeps AFRs at 14.7 and I can hear lots of pinging and even some detonation. So I'm forced to punch it!

Also you build more heat at highway speeds raising your overall IATs.
I think the 178 equivilent is optimal.

I don't know. I think they're more concerned with opening a new market: the guys that want more power but aren't willing to go the crank pulley route because of either labor or reliability concerns. The SC pulley is so easy to change, even _I_ could do it. (And that's saying a lot.) But I'm sure as heck not gonna put a crank pulley on myself.

Also, depending on manufacturing costs, they might make a better margin on the SC pulley. I just hope that it is priced close to the old Code3. I'd love to step up to the 181mm, but a thousand dollars is a lot of jack for a relatively small increase (compared to the Code3).

I was just looking at the datasheets for the Lysholm LYS 1600 AX supercharger. Can anyone confirm that it is the one used on the SRT-6 engines?

As I was looking at the info, I noticed that the max RPM listed for it is 13,000. Uh oh!

If it is indeed the one we have, it is listed as 15,000 RPM max. Where did you see 13k?

On the dimension drawings of the unit. From the same page as the graph.

I was also looking at the LYS 2300 AX. It is EXACTLY the same as the 1600, just two inches longer and it moves more air.

I wonder if it would fit if we used Woody's latest dual throttle body mod. Removing the throttle body from the back would make a little room for the longer supercharger... and we would need to redesign the Y tubing... but is it enough room?

OK, who's volunteering to drop a couple grand on an LYS 2300 AX and find out? LOL

What are you going to do about the runner extensions built onto the stock supercharger? And if you think fueling is hard with a 1.6 liter S/C that 2.3L is gonna be even tougher... lol

The SRT and C32 both use the same IHI SC. It's NOT the same as the Lysholm. (Granted they look similar!) They just use the same twin screw 'lysholm' method. I emailed Lysholm to ask about this and they confirmed NOT the same. (Not to say that you couldn't fit one of course...but not the same output). The IHI unit (there's a thred of course somewhere) moves more air than the Lysholm (proprietary). Got this written down at home. Will post tonight (Aust. time).

If that in fact would bolt on, can we find a used one? If we all chipped in and bought one, we could present it to Woody (if he felt this would be worthy of his time and testing). I'll start w/ a $25. donation. I feel I owe at least that to the Professor for all the R.&D. I enjoy watching the envelope being pushed.

Thanks for clearing that up. My mind was all fuzzy by the time I finished reading that long supercharger post and I couldn't tell the difference.

good info here guys....

we should have more details on the pulley very soon. As im sure you understand, we don't just make something and release it to the wild! We are car guys just like you are, and if we wouldn't put it on our cars, it sure as heck isn't going on yours!

But....for those impatient people.... we will have some details about the pulley in our monthly newsletter that comes out the beginning of the month. You can sign up for the newsletter on the front page of our website. (mid right side)

oh, and guys, I went down the path of a new sc. Not worth the costs involved and I have a shop with free labor lol. Your biggest bets would be manifolds coulpled with a bigger throttle body and intake. That is what I had!

Thanks Jake! I think you saved a few people some money right there. I'd have loved to gone down the new supercharger road, but the $$$ is just not there. Whatever I do to mine will have to be cost effective.
