Default Re-acquired Vehicles?

So I'm not going to name drop the dealership, but if you do some research you will find it. I was just curious why they had two SRT-6s with a 30,000 mile difference at the same price....I had no idea you could do this with vehicles. I don't think this even showed up on the CarFax/AutoCheck, but I may not have run this vehicle's VIN. Either way...crazy to think about and I definitely don't think I would want this car...

Here's the email I received:

The one with lower miles is a reaquired Vehicle, what that means is to keep a loyal customer happy they bought it back from them. The customer had a complaint and Chrysler bought it back, took it back to the factory, ran it back down the assembly line, fixed whatever was wrong with it and checked it out to make sure there is not anything else wrong with it. But to the next consumer, they give you a 12 month/unlimited milage warrenty bumber to bumber to make sure it is free from any and all defects. I looked up this SRT6 and the complaint was the check engine light had come on and went off and I believe the ABS light had came on and went off. They could not duplicate the problem when they recieved it back at the factory. Reguardless, they still give you the 12 month warrenty. That is why we can sell it a little cheaper. We sell hundreds of these. They are really nice pre owned cars that we can sell at a great price! Give me a call or shoot me an email with any other questions.

Has anyone heard of this? Seems like a bad idea to me...

He is lying out his @ss. The factory is closed and has been for some time...and they never would have sent a car back to the factory. Another story telling salesman. They probably don't have a shop qualified to figure out what it's problems are. Tell me what cars salesman doesn't know how to spell..."warranty".......I would test drive this baby and take to a place that knows the car, and have it checked out for yourself, and make sure it isn't a car from a dealership that was once underwater....lol

PS...the factory is the Karrman plant in Germany...Chrysler doesn't even have an agreement with them, and it is closed. Do you really think they would ship a car across the pond and "run" it down the assembly line that doesn't exist? What a bunch of whooie....chalk one up for another used car salesman....

Cool Re: Re-acquired Vehicles?

I know that a dealer here in Texas ,had a bunch of lemon law return xifires, but is was posted on windshields in large yellow letters. I drove a used srt6 at this dealer, it was trash and the engine sounded like it was about to come apart. Danny

Good Will. i would not count on it.

Hmm... I think we may have a winner. I'm guessing that this might be the same place. However, on cars.com I didn't see any mention of this....that's shady.....

Bonham Texas Dodge Dealers - Bonham Chrysler Home Page

I am almost sure the blue one with 14k on it was at auction at the beginning of april. I was looking to purchase it but then got scared away after I noticed it was a lemon buy back car. I have emailed them asking about the vin and then I confirm it with my friend who researched it for me.

If the srt6 you are referring to is in tx, and is black, and you are seriously considering buying it...you might want to pm me first.
