What do you guys think of this car? Should I stray away because it's not a certified dealer? Looks like a kind of little dealer and cheeeeap price.

2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 SUPERCHARGED Blue Crazy Cheap Cars - Special Car Details

I want to get a SRT-6 as soon as possible....but the first SRT-6 I had was a dud. Granted it had been in an accident and I should have never bought it knowing that....

I wouldnt rule out anything...... get all the info you can on it and go look at it and test drive, or see if one of the members is close if you cant. I wouldnt worry about who has it... just what it is physically..

It says it has cloth interior but the pics are the standard SRT6 logo seats. Also noted a piece of duct tape covering a hole under the rear license plate. Not sure what is supposed to be there as I havent looked under mine since I got them. For 28K miles it looks pretty clean from the pics...

Just curious, are you only considering SRT6 coupes, or would a roadster fit the bill as well?

Really only focusing on coupes. Haven't really considered a roadster, I just can't get used to the lines for some reason.

$14,219 is a great price regardless if it has a few nicks and scratches. I would only pass up if it had a salvaged title. Also I would use the vin and call in the warranty. Check for inservice date. Use the savings for an extended warranty. Use the vin for an online quote. Remember regardless of low miles or not your still buying a 5 year old car. Look back at old threads and see what many of us went through with minor repairs because we bought cars that were left over for 2-3 years.

Not a problem, I really like the lines on the coupes as well.

The reason I was asking was this eBay auction from a few weeks back ended at $16,101 without hitting the reserve. Maybe this car has been sold since then, but if I hadn't already bought my roadster I would have been all over this one. The owner's phone number is listed in the description.

Good luck with your search!

You can't get an extended warranty if the vehicle is out of its original warranty, right?

Thanks cruizinquick, that's good information.

I'm really considering this car and it's a great price. Of course, it will probably get drug out from under me if I get "too interested'...lol. I hate not being able to see the car up close and check under the car etc. There is one here in Omaha, NE with the same miles for $19,900, but I didn't completely like the condition of the car...looked like it had a minor oil leak.

No I believe you can but it's more. The website I posted above allows you to input vin and get an instant quote. Still if you call Chrysler directly they will give you the inservice date. I can guarantee you that most of the cars that were left over had the factory warranty expire the end of February of this year.

You may be confusing an extended warranty with a certified warranty. Not sure the main differences because some were able to get them certified, while others weren't because of the SRT designation. I'd sell mine if those dang camaros were coming down on price. I'll wait one more year.

Yeah, checked the inservice...it was in 2006, so no go there. I'm not seeing a website...is it this one?

That is from the valve covers or the smaller covers on the valve covers. It's an easy fix. You can tell by putting your hand down underneath the oil filter and feeling for oil buildup. Rob sent me new rubber gaskets and I did them myself and then changed my valvecovers altogether with a matching teflon coated set to match the intakes and manifolds.

Sorry it was in the other thread. It's www.servicecontracts.chrysler.com

It is the same that you posted, just a few clicks away. They changed the way the site comes up though. Before you could pick the length of warranty and all the prices were posted. Now you have to fill out info first. I'll see if I can't find the old link and if it's still active. Before it also listed Mercedes vehicles for warranty.

ALSO the extended warranty starts with the inservice date. So that one in 2006, if added 7yr warranty would go until 2013. Not 7yrs from now.

Yeah, I think I'll look into that for sure. I will probably try to buy this car as quickly as possible. Not really my style, but dang, it's been getting frustrating to be a day-late and a dollar-short. I hope it's in as good of condition as it seems.

Yeah, that would be great. Otherwise, I'm putting a deposit down and flying out with the hopes that it is as clean as it looks. I suppose I can always back down once I get there, but that would be a huge hit for nothing.

I'd be very cautious.

They only have 2 reviews on this site (neither is good)...... Crazy Cheap Cars Reviews Oakfield NY | Car Dealer Check

I know how bad you want a SRT, I'm just trying to give you a little more information. Good luck.

I would run a CarFax, and an AutoCheck. This car was probably picked up at an auction. AutoCheck has the information as reported by the auction house. This would not necessarily show up on CarFax. caveat emptor

Have you considered a mini couper? Most people who've owned the SRT seem to be selling and buying up these little buggers.

I'd rather squat over a live hand grenade with the pin removed.
