Default Quick OEM Coolant Reservoir Question

Guys as you know underneth the oem reservoir we have an outlet for the radiator and an outlet for our intercooler, I'm making my own coolant seperation kit, but I want to plug the intercooler hole, I'm just not sure what to plug it with, my coolant tank is full so I want to know what to use so save as much coolant as possible from leaking out, can I screw something in it? or does it have to be plugged if so how big does the plug need to be?

Thanks in advance guys!

On mine I took some spare hose and vice grips. I put the hose on the serrated grippers and then pinched the hose to the intercooler underneath the overflow tank. I used a 3/4 inch pipe plug (not positive of the size) and clamped it in with a hose clamp. Mine starts seeping every now and again so I believe something smooth would work better. You may come up with something better, but my way worked with what I had in the toolbox.

I turned down a close fitting delrin plug to stick in the hole and then put a proper sized (cause I dont recall what the actual size is) cap on it with a hose clamp. Nothing leaks out.....

Thanks guys, I guess I'll just have to look through my tool box for something! I hope its worth it. Ive heard it lowers the intercoolers temps buy up to 20 degrees

What temperatures are you logging now? I wasn't logging IAT's until after I separated the system and installed a supercooler so I don't know if it's done anything or not. I see 20º over ambient after a while and it settles there. It runs cooler with the air conditioner on because the fans run. At the drag strip I reach 160º by the end of the 1/4 mile but the track temp. was 107º. On the road course (20 minute session) I saw a maximum of 172º and minimum of 138º with a track temp. of 95º.

I haven't done any logging Les but it's quite clear that the engine produces more heat then the supercharger so it has to be beneficial to seperate the two, it sure can't do any harm! I was going to to with the Needswings kit but instead I want to add a small tank just in case for some reason the intercooler needs extra fluids.
