Moparbust has one. He didn't like it in the beginning, that's all I know about that. Same with the phantom grip. For more insight you'll have to ask him.

All this talk of leaning out at the upper ranges confuses me. I have a Zeitronix and DashDAQ and try to log every run. I'm not seeing any leaning out on my runs. Yet, I can't get a better time than a 12.5.

I've got a single NW CAI, NW Manis, NW SuperCooler, Code3 Pulley, Mickey Thompson ET Streets and LET Tune (which has been retuned from my datalogs). Other than the NW dual intake, I think I have every part Rob sells. Sure, the 178 pulley performs marginally better than the Code3, but that doesn't explain the difference between a 11.99 and a 12.5.

I'm starting to think that part of my problem is the original plugs. I'm planning to put colder plugs in and see what that gets me. But again colder plugs help prevent detonation, which is usually a result of leaning, which I'm not seeing. So I doubt they'll help, but they sure can't hurt.

Tom, I am wondering if anyone has seen any gains off the NW mani's? I have the C3,single NW CAI, and LET Tune with MT ET Streets. Nothing else, and I am running 12.2 @114 with a heavier roadster. Seems like with your mods, and having a coupe, you should be running a few tenths faster than me. I also have less hp and torque than you. I don't get it.

Tom,
I am at about the same place as you on hp/tq and hitting 12.0-11.96. The only differences I see in our mods is I have stock mani's with the 240 mod, a 181 pulley and NW Dual CAI. I have been using Iridium one stage colder plugs for quite some time though. But that cant be that much difference....if any.

Do your data logs show any timing being pulled or anything? I think I am loosing a little after the 1000' mark. I have to get my Dashdaq put in and connected to my Zeitronix this weekend so I can log and see what is happening.

Those of us with the Code3 aren't seeing leaning out issues because we don't make the boost the 181/185 guys do. Our injectors are flowing more due to less pressure in the cylinders.

As to your 12.5's, I found a timeslip from May of 2009 that is comparable to the timeslip linked in your sig. My mods for the run were Code3 pulley, single NW CAI and LET tune. Here is the breakdown:

60' : 1.830
330: 5.230
1/8 ET: 8.032
1/8 MPH: 87.69
1000': 10.435
1/4 ET: 12.457
1/4 MPH: 111.12

Biggest differences in the slips: I'm about 1.5 MPH faster in the 1/8. You're about 2.5 MPH faster in the 1/4. That says to me that you have less power in the lower RPM range, but have great power in the upper RPMs. Heck I've NEVER hit a high 113 trap! I've hit 113, but it was at the lower end.

Don't be fooled by the HP and TQ numbers. When I first got my tune in January 2009, I dynoed 336.4 HP and 324.59 TQ. I went to have it tweeked in July 2009 and my baseline run was 351.96 HP and 347.72 TQ without any changes made. The difference was 6 months of having the tune and 17* warmer temps. My AFR was quite a bit leaner in July, giving me more power.

As for the Mani's, I got those back in January this year. I now have better throttle response for daily drivng, but have seen no gains at the track. I still need to get my tune worked out for them. It took about 2 weeks having them installed, but I did finally see my AFRs lean out in the upper RPMs, hence needing a re-tune to take advantage of them.

I pulled equivilant 1/8 mile numbers without a tune. I have C3, Custom Dual CAI, E55 H/E with stock tune.

60' : 1.863
330: 5.291
1/8 ET: 8.090
1/8 MPH: 87.62

I have yet to get her back to the 1/4 mile but soon. Just a good day at the track.

I agree with cruzin about running lean and doing damage. I have always logged and have my dashdag set to trigger a warning when it hits a specific afr so I know to get out of it. I am going to change my plugs since I feel it is possible that all of the abuse has caused tihem to age prematurely. If not for the cost I would consider going to a 178 pulley and before it is over with I may do it. I would really like to make this work though. I have the lean issue under control my AFR's on wed never went above 11.8 and dropped into the low 10's after each shift. Now I just need to start slowly pulling fuel back to get into the 12.5 range and I will be happy.
