Default SRT-6 Reliability ?

If in fact this is an unmodified 1 owner SRT-6 that has never been driven at the track or abused......what kind of reliability issues might I run into in years to come if I don't abuse it...(much)? Supposedly owned by a middle aged couple.....blah-blah-blah...

How long will that supercharger last before I would have to sink big bucks into a repair?

What kind of warranty did the 05s come with.....were they all 7/70 powertrains? or just 3/36 bumper to bumpers?

Coupe 2005 <16,000 miles...$16,995

I've put 40,000 on one of my NAs & basically zero problems.....other than the time I > 100mph at minus 5 F & it took a day or so for the fan to stop running like crazy.....

I have had my srt 6 for about 2 years . Had transmission leak repair under warranty. Now at 35000 miles! I think the inter cooler pump may have some failures and may be a idler pulley neither very expensive for most. For the most part the sc have been a non issue, maybe one are 2 failures and i believe they can be rebuilt. Other problems are the same as a na. SRT6 Warranty 3years/ 36000. But u may check your vin with a dealer and see if it had a extra warranty purchased when new, can happen! Danny

75K on mine - bought it with 9900. Like Dan above I've had the tranny leak taken care of, replaced the crank position sensor after it started posting codes & the IC pump replaced after the OEM started failing.
The car has been well over 100mph many a time (awfully easy to do )!
Beyond the items listed above - nada. The car runs like new, has never failed to start no matter how low the temps. go & still makes me feel like I've lost 30 yrs. everytime I get behind the wheel.

Thanks. 64 F here yesterday ....birds chirping....sun shining.....worked outdoors...nice......so why when I look out the window today is there 4 -5 inches of snow(& still snowing) & it's 27 F. Kinda hard to go give that SRT-6 a real test drive!!!

Last night I drove the 6 speed home from work around midnight.....chugged right past several trucks that had slid off I-70 & 435.

Last time I went to look at an SRT-6 ....the 6 speed blew a tire at 85 mph on the way there.....maybe God is trying to stop me from getting
an SRT-6??

IC pump, sometimes the IC sensor, small valve cover leak on the driver's side, transmission leak, crank position sensor....are the most common failures. There are "how too's" on here for all of them....the only thing to fail so far on my roadster was the IC sensor, and the leak on the valve cover is just now showing up w/ 32K on her....

I drive the crap out of ours daily. It sees 100+ mph almost daily. Big burnouts anytime I feel like it. No problems ever. And this is with several mods to the engine.

These things are pretty reliable IMO. I dont think there is a better car out there for the price. You get a lot of bang for the buck.

Wow, decisions-decisions.....no way I could let the 6 spd go...Fred's my buddy.....so it would have to be Wilma.....

but she's like a daughter to me......I'd feel like a pimp or something!

It's still snowing like hell........maybe I'll just stay home & watch KU this afternoon.....yeah....that's the smart thing to do.....

But, I could name the black SRT-6 Barney?

No way I can take Wilma out in this snow/slop...6-7 inches now...

.....the wife took the Chevy to work today so Wilma would stay clean......at least with an excuse like that I might not feel like such a wuss for not just going & doing it....

I suck....

I couldn't do it, I had the title, checkbook & owner's manual....took the few personal items out of her....had the key in the ignition......but just couldn't let her go.........I just couldn't do it.......we drove 1000 miles round trip to Illinois in a snow storm last year to rescue her....

kinda sounds like the makings of a country song.....
