Anyone have this problem with NW or NW-style CAI?
Anyone have this problem with NW or NW-style CAI?
I have been noticing a burning smell after driving the SRT for 30 mins or longer. Took a couple drives to identify where it was coming from.
I installed my NW-style CAI earlier this year but never had a problem. It must have settled a bit and it now it is touching the top of the injector housing and eventually burning the plastic housing a little bit. Not much at all but enough to smell burning plastic when I pop the hood to smell-check.
I have verified the clamps are all tight but still notice the hot intake pipe is coming in contact with the injector housing.
I guess I should loosen and re-tighten all clamps to get it positioned a tad higher. I also thought of wrapping the affected part of the CAI with exhaust wrap.
Anyone else have this problem?

When you say "Injector Housing", what are you talking about? the NW intake doesn't go anywhere near the injectors. I'd loosen the clamps, twist it so it's higher than where you want it when it settles and then tighten the clamps. Then when it settles, it will still not be touching anything.
Good luck
