I think I will get more from meth as a cooling mod than I will with separating the cooling system. If i am wrong on this, please let me know. I am not far away from making this decision, and want to do it right the first time. Thanks
Good advice if drag racing is the goal and you have time to park and ice down. Get the power first - then play with cooling.

Cheapest cooling mod for the drag strip is a potentiometer. Disconnect the plug from the IAT sensor and plug in a potentiometer. Tell the ECU your IAT's are stable @ 70*. This will prevent the ECU from pulling timing (regardless of the real temp) just be careful.

It won't matter how much meth you spray if you inject it after the IAT sensor. Once the ECU senses hot temps - it's going to protect the engine and pull timing. That's its job.

What I need is to get my IAT down significantly with the engine at good operating temp. Either a big aux tank for the IC with COLD water or some meth seem like viable options.....
mike if you look at some of brianbraves threads you will see that he tried the bigger tank and what the result was longer times between heat soak but the coolant eventually heats up to temp no matter how much is used. it simply cant be cooled down quick enough to justify a 5 gal tank and the weight associated with it.
now the meth thats a different story!!

Brian you are correct.... I am only doing 1/4 miles now so that is all I need. If I were to start running that course at PIR I would look at adding the Woody/NW super cooler and change thermostats..... if meth is used it will spray before IAT sensor at the TB to cool the air charge......and at the intake plenums....similar to Distantpulse's...

To the original poster:

Get the NeedsWings CAI (single or dual - depending on your budget) first. Why? Because the stock intake aparatus is already starved for air. You need to uncork it before you put a pulley on your supercharger to draw even more air in.

Then if your budget allows pick up a pulley. I would say that it is worth it to even do a single CAI rather than a dual if that will be the deciding factor of whether you can get the pulley or not. Get both CAI and pulley. You won't be disappointed.

If you can afford the difference, get the 178 pulley rather than Code3. It performs a little better AND it leaves you the option of adding a mid-size Code3 later for even more power. If you get the small Code3 (the original size Code3), you're kinda stuck with it unless you can sell it. And the market's not that great for used SRT-6 mod parts.

I also wouldn't worry much about the cooling mods, unless you're a hard core racer (track or drag). They can always be added later. While I wouldn't take my NeedsWings super cooler off, the power I get from it (or rather don't lose because of it) is insignificant when compared to the power gained from the CAI and the pulley.

Just my 2 cents.
