I got mine in March '09 with 16800 km no has 36000 km, all that mileage and not 1 thing broke, and I drive it hard on bumpy prairie roads, snow, rain, slush, ice just not on gravel roads. Paint chips are hard to wash off...

Got mine 11/07 with 40 miles. Now has 3200 miles. Just a toy.

Got mine in Oct 2008 with 23k, now with 27k. Hawaii doesn't have a whole lot of road, however, but lots of the miles are with the top down.

as for why the black one is screwed together a little better, i have a theory. it was produced about 6 months later than the graphite one and maybe the assembly process was slightly perfected as karmann went along. i noticed it within the first mile. it's just tighter and a little more quiet. everything else is the same, even down to the pilot sports (which have about the same mileage-600 miles).

i paid 23k out the door for the black one, 24k for the graphite a year earlier.
