Default Small problem, but concerning

So I bought my 2nd SRT 6 today and I noticed something on the ride home.
The car acts like it was shot out of a gun 0 -90, (Which it should) but from 90 on it's like it hit a wall. Acceleration is slooowww. I know that should be from my previous experience with these cars. Any ideas? One other thing, the Supercharger kicks in at random from time to time. I can go down the interstate at 75 or so and it hits the 2.5k mark on the rpm gage and puts me in the back of my seat for a second then goes back to normal. Gaining 5mph in the process. I know I'm getting use to a 5 speed auto transmission again, and a crossfire for that matter, but these issues don't seem right.

I'm going to do a throttle body reset here in a few minutes and see if that has any effect.

One last question, "sprint booster" is it possible this car has one? I didn't put one on my previous two cars, so I don't know how the car reacts with one.

Good call Doc,
The symptoms point to that as the answer.

if I wasn't still under 30 day warranty, what would it cost me?
One more question how can I convince the dealer that that's the problem.

This thread link may help, do a search for (ic pump replacement), you will find more info.
There are a couple of optional pump available.
Cost between $100 to $150 for pump.

No lights. You just have no power. It is intermitten. I had no loss of power at 90 when the ic pump was working, just no power or acceleration intermittenly at all speeds. I would suggest an exstended warranty. Superchargers are 6k. I have replaced S/C on each SRT. Mine with 30k and Ashley's at 42k

You can check behind the accelerator for the sprint booster or behind the panel to the right of the accelerator pedal.

Who or where did you by the SRT from?

start with checking the i/c pump fuses. if you have a warrenty then let the dealer take care of it. if you want to fix it permanantly then get a cm 30 or 90 pump or meziere pump and we can do it in my garage. couple hours work and need some coolant

You guys are as awesome as always. I'm going to go by the dealership tomorrow and tell them to replace it. I've got to figure out how to tell them what the problem is. I've come to find that most dealerships don't like their customers telling them what's wrong with the car.

Oh the link was awesome, that was exactly what I was looking for Thanks.

just let them know that you have a intermittent i/c pump . tell them you had this issue on a prior car so you know the symptoms. there wont be any codes. get the engine good and hot before you go in.

What went wrong with them that you had to replace the entire supercharger?

Oh I won't pay anybody to do it. I'm mechanical enough to part swap lol. If end up doing it I'll replace the brake pads with rotex gold. I'd almost rather do it myself than have a rookie mechanic touch my car.

Well it's at the shop and of course they looked at me like I don't know what I'm talking about. The service writer could work at the DMV. Sigh now to wait and see what they think.

ask to see the mech,, let him know you know about the car and most will be happy to do what you want done ,as it means less work because they don't have to trouble shoot it..
when i take my car in for Chrysler max-care ext warranty ,i always see the mech and tell him what is wrong and what it needs he then says ok i fix that today. then i give him $***.** ( money talks) and i get my car fixed the way i want it. My dealer is so good at working with me that Randy wants to bring his and Ashley's to my dealer. jim

All the TSBs are on the site here...go find the one about I/C pump failure print it out and take it in... and whatever you do, don't back off of getting fixed what you know is bad, not what they think is bad... unless they want to replace your S/C for free...let them do that hahahaha, then get them to replace the I/C pump... hahaha

Update, after a couple of hours they called me to say "Mr. McBroom, we have determined there is something wrong with your supercharger. We're going to send it to a Chrysler Dealer to get it fixed, because we don't have to tools."

I had to chuckle a little bit.
