Default Inmotion in ATL

I just wanted to post that Inmotion has an affiliate shop in Atlanta, just incase anyone is wanting an alternative to LET or can't make the 12/12 date. I am not by an means wanting to step on anyone's toes by this post, so NO OFFENSE to Steve or LET. Eurocharged/LET does great work and their products speak for themselves, however options exist for tunes in our area. I have been talking with Inmotion off and on for awhile and think that when my car gets tuned, they will be there to do it. If anyone wants more info than by all means contact them. We might even be able to get a group by set up for early next year, to bring the prices down a tad, who knows. Again, this is not to take light off of the LET tune day, just a reminder that they have a shop close too.

I have a good feeling we will make great sparring partners for a long time to come. I am trying to be as opposing as I can, although you seem to have afew steps ahead of me. I have got to save my spare change for a tune and some new shoes, then we can have another showdown. Good luck with your event and happy holidays.

Ok, after an hour or so on the phone to James @ Inmotion, i have a few questions answered. First is there shop in Atlanta is a Mercedes repair shop that offers INMotion services. There is no dyno but they do there fine tuning per OBDII readings anyway. The ECU needs time to adapt to a new tune so if finer tuning is needed later then it can be arranged. They have a loaner tool available for SRT guys with a deposit and a group buy discount of 10% if we want to do it that way. Mercedes guys is a bit more difficult for there code is needed and ECU must be pulled to tune. Anyway, I told James that I would just post his contact information, due to everyone having there own questions and issues.

James @ Inmotion direct # 503-608-7717

Shop in ATL:
R S Motorwerks
8135 Roswell Rd
Atlanta, GA 30350-6450

What OBDII readings are they working with? So is it a different price if you go to the shop as opposed to sending in your ecu? Can you schedule an appointment at that shop, then drive down and get the tune done there? I may do that if so.

thanks

I spoke with them today w/ some of the same questions...

- You get the same tune sending your ECU to them as having it done at the shop.
- It will be a "generic-custom" tune based on what mods you have.
- If you have any mods, it is $700 for the "custom" tune.
- If you go to the shop, you have to tack on the shop's fee to that.
- I don't know about the scheduling question, as I decided to stick with the dyno-tune from Eurocharged...

One good point though, if you ever add mods or want to remove stuff, you send them your ECU and the changes are free...

Just so you know the SRT6 is $500 (unless pricing went up) for custom tune for their code is generic. The MB's are a bit more due to being more complicated to tune. They retune your actual ECU as opposed to reflashing with a generic tune, so if you were to take your car to stealership, it would still have all of your info and look legit.

As for the OBDII readings.. a/f, rpms, timing, etc. They are real time numbers. The ECU needs time to adjust to changes so DYNO tuning is a bit more complicated. Just saying

Just as a point of reference, if a dealership looks into your ECU they will definitely be able to tell if it has been modified. This is what happens with a ECU tune v. a piggyback tune. No one does a piggyback tune for the M112K ECU, they are all ECU tunes. So yes, the dealer would be able to tell you have modified your ECU no matter what tuner you us...unless it's a Chrysler dealer...they are all idiots.

Please don't let this deter anyone from getting a tune from any tuner...The dealers will not go digging in your ECU unless you are having a specific problem within the ECU.

I apologize for my misinformation. I was just trying to inform about the tune as a whole not the difference between Eurocharge and INMotion. Thanks for clearing it up for everyone, including me. It's great to have such knowledge at our disposal, and again, I am not trying to cause a rift between LET and INMotion tunes as they are all for the progression of our toys.

Ok, now I am confused..... We are doing a group buy to fly Tony from Chicago to Atlanta to do tunes for us on 12/12. You are saying that you have a Eurocharged dealer in Atlanta. Something is not making sense here. Please enlighten me. Even if the purpose is to get Tony's expertise, why would we not just use Buckhead Imports facilities, as they are already a certified Eurocharged representative?

The authorized dealer probably flashes the ECU w/ a predetermined tune supplied by Eurocharged. We are having the cars custom tuned on the dyno. It 'should' be a little more accurate.

Which makes me think... could I get them to do the initial flash so I'm tuned for the NSCRA event in FL Dec 4-6, then have Tony fine tune it on 12/12?

The authorized dealer does nothing but flash tunes on to the car. These tunes that are flashed onto a car are made by either Tony or Jerry at Eurocharged in Chicago. The authorized dealer can simply place these tunes onto the car.

As for getting a flash tune done prior to Tony going to Atlanta for a dyno/tuning day, yes you could. You would have to specifically take that up with eurocharged though. Since Tony is handling the tuning day I would eamil tony@eurocharged.com to clear things up and see if he could work something out for you. If you choose to come back to the dyno/tuning day you will most likely not be at the top of the list however because of the high volume of new customers that may want tunes and the very limited time that Tony will be there to tune cars...

Hello to help clear that up for ya just a bit. There is no extra cost for me to fly to Atlanta, we do not tax our customers for travel so if I come or not its going to be the same other then the length of time. We like to keep things personal and meet our customers and so our customers can see us at work. Now our dealers can dyno tune vehicles with custom files we make and send to them via the interenet but they have no ability to make changes to a tune. Now if you want that its more timely and on your dime so its ok with us

The reason we do this is so you guys can meet us feel comfortable with your tuner ask all the questions you want as well as meet our local dealer and build a relationship thats solid for everyone involved.

ZAHANMA thank you very much for jumping in on this.

Makes sense, and ZAHANMA explained it perfectly. Sometimes my lightbulb burns a little dimmer than other times. I look forward to meeting you, and everyone that will be coming up for the tune. Please don't take any offense by my ignorance.

It is interesting from a marketing standpoint that I never knew that there were authorized dealers in Atlanta for InMotion and Eurocharged. Seems like it would make sense to have a listing of all authorized dealer locations in the US posted somewhere. Maybe even a sticky somewhere. Seems like it would help to generate additional revenues for both companies.

Have you checked InMotion or Eurocharged's website? There is possibly a list of vendors/dealers on either of their websites.

I agree with what has previously been said, any further questions about Eurocharged tuning in ATL please take over to 32krazy!'s thread:
