Also, this might sound strange but that upper hose bracket is a joke. Snaps quite easily and the hose is not held very well.
I found the Mag-Light mounting clamp fits perectly. Has a hole that lines right up to the mount for the origianl clamp and it is at least 10x more solid and actually looks pretty good.
Can you show a picture of that Mag light clamp? I broke mine trying to transfer it from the V6 to V8. Couldn't believe it broke so easy.

Subuaru also carries the blue coolant and they have all aluminum engines, don't know if its HOAT compatible but it is long life coolant and blue for those who want to keep their coolant the same color, just another posibility ????

Would not surprise me - mine was very brittle and snapped right off when removing the fan. This little clamp worked very well.

So I am reviving a fairly old thread here because tonight I just had to top off my coolant. Three weekends ago I changed my IC pump with Johnson CM30. I thought I was good to go but my coolant light came on on Sunday and I noticed one of the hoses leading to the pump had a very slow leak causing me to lose coolant.

Order the Zerex G-05 coolant online (not the 50/50 blend but the full concentrate version) and, after tightening the hose to stop the leak. Added about 1 - 1.3 quarts of the G-05 coolant to bring the coolant level up to about an inch from full to top off the remaining OEM Mercedes blue fluid.

I didn't think to add distilled water to the mix until after. Am I going to damage my engine with the amount of un-distilled G-05 I put in with the Mercedes fluid (which is distilled)? Should I go ahead and add distilled water to top off the remaining 1 inch until full line?

Feeling pretty dumb right about now. Your input is appreciated.

You should be fine. I've added about a quart without water in other cars I've owned and never had any issues.
