Default DashDaq Install

So I finally completed the installation of the DashDaq and ZT-2 and I am very satisfied with the results. I was going for a very clean and finished look without any wires and the end result actually had me surprised.

The DashDaq is mounted behind the plastic in the glovebox and I made extension harnesses for the two plugs connected to it. I was able to keep the wiring flat because of the little harnesses I made. I liked the fact that I didn't have to actually modify the harnesses. I will be talking to Rob at NW about making this available for others as well.

Pictures for your viewing enjoyment.

Yeah man- that looks great! I may have to PM you some Q's about the installation. If/when I get mine I'm getting it with the wide-band and boost modules as well. Do you have any additional perimeter modules or just the OBDII Dashdaq?

Just sent out one of these to Rob at NeedsWings and one to 240M3SRT. Helped 240 through the install so looking forward to seeing install shots and hear his perspective on everything.

I will be selling these on an as needed basis. If you'd like one, the price is $75 shipped. I have enough of everything for three more at the moment but I can put together more in the future if needed. PM or email me at rudy@acceleratedindustries.com for more info or to purchase.

Thanks

really looks great Rudy. Nice job! when you get a chance, let's chat about some vinyl overlay for the sidevents. What I'd like to see there is a smoke fade from black to vey light gray-brown at the end. Like the old corvette overlay. But nice job, again on the DashDaq

With Rudy's help the install was very stright forward and extremely clean looking. As close as you can get to a factory install. Its really nice not having 2 huge cables hanging over the dash and console area. Its in a great location that is very accessible and easily viewable by the driver, plus its not taking up space where you would likely put anything else. Also, when you touch the screen it doesnt move like with the window mount.

My favorite part is no more blind spot on the window, so driving is actually safer! I prefer the dash daq as it replaces the need for a laptop or gauges when viewing important things like AFR in realtime. Then you can pop out the SIM card and view the graphs later on your laptop or home pc to compare all perameters. Genuis.

I must add that Rudy pays as much attention to detail as i do, if not more. I have now owned 3 of his products (pillar pod, gauge face overlays, and this mounting kit)...all have earned a rating of 5 stars. At this rate i just hope he keeps designing more goodies for our cars.

Excellent job,
I’ve been patiently waiting for an App. for my Droid to run REV for the PLX system, I’m afraid that will be a long wait. Thanks for sharing this with us, I just might end up going this route.

Thank you for the kind words and yes, I try very hard to be very picky as I feel if you're gonna do something, do it right.

BTW, I see you're using that Night2 theme I modified so you have 3 graphs and 10 display areas. It's very nice for seeing how your UEGO stacks up to your boost and RPM or fuel pressure levels. I still have a few bugs to work out but I'll get that up here too for those that want to use it soon.

I am so jealous...lol.....OK, Rudy...I am remodeling your room as I type this....The Holliday Bed and Breakfast awaits you...lol
Seriously, I think the triple pillar pod and gauges will be installed in the roadster, and I will want to do this in the coupe....more $$$$ to save. At this rate Rob, Rudy, 240 and Jake, it may be 2011 before the coupe is complete.....lol

I want one. E.mail is on the way. The tracks I run at won't let me use the dashdaq without a backup tether because of the suction cup mount. And I prefer the dashdaq to be out of sight to other cars. This solves my mounting issue.

I'd recommend getting the DashDaq / ZT-2 combo with 3.5 Bar(50PSI) transducer for MAP from Rob at NeedsWings and the mount from me. If you're really into monitoring every aspect of your car like I am, add a 10 Bar (150PSI) transducer for fuel pressure, another 10 Bar (150PSI) transducer and one of MikeR's custom fittings for oil pressure, an IAT sensor for post SC air temps and a fluid temp sensor to monitor the coolant temp going into the intercooler. You can actually start to get really crazy if you want but these are the ones you really want to monitor. You could add oil temp to the mix but at the moment, there really isn't an easy way to get the temp of the oil actually being pumped through the engine and oil galleys, only a sensor that replaces the drain plug and that will just tell you the temp of the oil in the pan. Not that it's not good to monitor it but if you're going through the work of installing all these sensors, you want it to give you as true of a measurement as you get.

Feel free to PM myself or Rob with any questions.

Thanks

BAR is like EURO speak for one atmosphere of pressure. Woody About 14.7 at sea level or 760 mm of Hg.

Yes, the mount uses the glovebox. I will see what I can do to get you a setup like this as well. May end up having to make a bracket that will move it over an inch so your cupholder clears.

see this is why i havent gotten this yet. SO FAR over my head! i know i need the zt-2 and dashdaq. with my mods im sure i need a/f and iat's and boost. prolly wont need fuel pressure as it seems fine with the c3. no big crank pulleys on mine.
so zt-2
dashdaq
your extended harness
o2 sensors for wideband?
sensor for boost?
sensor for iat's?
keep teaching im learning!

Doesn't the DashDaq read the boost and IAT's from the OBDII port? or are you putting sensors in to read a little more accurately?

i know most drill the y pipe for the boost reading. bung in the pipe for the wideband and was assuming a sensor for the iat's. really im terrified of hacking my car up with this. i want it but fear it may be over my head
