Default installing NeedsWings dual CAI

So I was hoping to (start and) finish installing it this afternoon, but I got off work a little late, and had a few minor issues finding the 2nd passenger side radiator core support clip (since I didn't think I'd ever need it again, I ended up just ripping it in two, then I saw where the 2nd clip was ), and removing the power steering fluid lines. I'm done with those parts though, so I'll finish it tomorrow. I have a few questions though.

Where is the "Hood Release Cable Cover shield" that I'm supposed to take out? The email that Rob sent said it is "behind the grill" but I don't think I saw it. He sent a pic of it once it was out, but not where it is located ... where behind the grill is it, and why does it need taken out? I'd assume it was in the driver's side since it was only needed out for the dual CAI.

Also, does the y-piece fit easily onto the throttle body? It was dark when I finally got around to playing with it, but it kind of seemed like the y-piece was too tall (from the throttle body to the back of the engine compartment) to easily fit there, but since it was dark I don't know if it was lined up correctly. Do I need to take off the weatherstripping that is at the top back of the engine compartment, then put the y-piece on, then put the weatherstripping back? Or does it normally fit right on?

thanks

From my "How to Super Cooler" thread.

Remove outer cap as seen on left. Push both tabs in to start Hood Release Cable Guard removal.

Push in these tabs to remove the Hood Release Cable Guard

NOTE: If your car is BLACK you probably can't see these tabs.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually just reading through your SuperCooler thread, and wondered if it was in one of the pics. Somehow in reading through it though I missed it . Thanks for pointing it out to me.

the hood release cable cover is shown in tighted's pictures.

no weatherstripping or anythign else will need to be removed. if you put the silicone y section on first you can reach inside one fo the sidewards facing ports and pull the coupler over the throttle body very easily. dont forget to put the hose clamp over the silicone first or you will have to remove it to add ti later. if you get stuck tomorrow give me a call.

Ah, that's a good idea to reach inside and pull it over. I'll do that, thanks.

woohoo, finished! Worked on it on my lunch break. Thanks again for your help tighed1 and NeedsWings.

I drove it around some, and I can't really tell if it has extra hp, but I'll assume it does. I haven't had the car long enough to notice an extra maybe 5% gain in hp (?) ... it still felt fast before I put it on

I can definitely hear the blower now though. Is that from the intake, or from removing the engine cover? I'm not sure if I like the sound or not, but it's growing on me. I think maybe not hearing the engine and exhaust as much might be part of the reason I'm not sure if it has extra hp.
