Since I created the shop day years ago and I'm friends with the GM and service manager, they allow me to bring my other cars in for work, it's a great event. This idiot now runs shop day for our car club (I see this stopping very soon) but he has no affiliation to the dealership in any way. He was just there, he was mad at me for having my SRT6 there when he did not want it there and decided that he would screw with my car.

My point on the vibration at 60-80mph was it would go by so fast I'm not sure if I would have realized the problem in the 1.8-2.2 seconds. Remember, I would have been a full throttle and had the vibration come back up at the higher speeds could it have been deadly?

Is there any difference between this and him shaving/cutting into a break line, both could cause death at this extreme speed had the tire blown and sending me into the soft grass at 130+ mph on three wheels and a rim, the thought is scary. It's an airport runway by the way. If you think so, I think I need to call the DA's office. This was not just a prank but according to the caller, he knew just what he was doing and knew the outcome could have been very bad, but made a choice and did it anyway....
wow. i wonder what kind of interpersonal drama sh*t precipitated this.

He was mad that I would not convert some graphics of a jpeg in to full eps vectored art for $50, it was 15 hours or work or more and we charge $50 an hour for art. He was mad that I would not run an order for 17 embroidered shirts, in 7 different colors with names on the right side, logo on the left chest, full logo sewn on the back and payment from 17 different people. We don't do that type of work.

It's childish on a scale I have never seen.

I recieved a PM from him in another forum after asking him about it. He admited it and tried to play it off as a joke. He would rather argue about it than apologize. So I made it public. Let the chips fall where they may.

Careful bombsquad. That's what they call slander (actually it's libel since it's in written form rather than verbal) and you can be sued for it. The courts take a dim view of that. But you could post signs around your neighborhood saying he vandalized your car, since its true, it's not slander (or libel).

the suggestion about the postings around his neighborhood would probably just lead to some retaliatory "pranks" ...

I say if you don't feel like actually just beating him down , then file a complaint with the police. Even if they decide it is nothing, they will likely at least interview him, and that should scare him straight

definetly file a complaint since he has admitted it publically....just show this to the detective...anytime, at least in Indiana, you destroy someone's property on purpose, is "mischief" with intent is "criminal" . I am sure the law is similar in your state...is carries a hefty fine, and possible jail time...at least community service...he could wash your car....I wouldn't let it go, no telling how many others he has done this to when he didn't get his way...take from this old retired cop...this isn't his first time...

Its simple, toss a trantulla, scorpion, rat, or something else quite disturbing into his car and when he accuses you, play it off as a joke

Your dealing with a spiteful person. If you do anything to his car, then he WILL call the police. Be careful.

Today was interesting. I made a forum thread exposing him, people jumped in and told him that it was wrong and foolish. Then the gremlins showed up and one called a ***** for not starting this as a PM and so on, remember Subaru's are not expensive and sometimes you get trolls. Well it did start as a PM but he did not know. A few defended him by saying it would not have been a big deal. But most agreed with the code of not messing with a persons car. Then a mod came in and riped me a new hole like I was the bad guy for responding. That amazed me.

In the end, I sent him a message to settle himself and his friends down and come clean about everything. If so I would leave the cops out of it but his time was running out. A few minutes later he called me and we talked it out for about 30 minutes. I did get a few suggestions from baseball bats to having him swallow his teeth and something about a butter churn. I feel better, he understands the car guys rule.

I was told by 5 people that off balance wheels would not have been an issue at 160mph.

Yeah for the internet

Hi everybody,

first, great forum and many tips, even if I drive a SLK32..., Thank you!

160 mph are round about 255 km/h, whith is the top speed you can drive on the German Autobahn (if it's empty). So in Germany or near to Germany (live in Switzerland) we are pretty used to this speed.
Tires are a key to do that, please, check first the speed index of your tires. I know that some European manufactures mount different tires for the US, with a lower speed index. If you go faster with these tires, it is life threatening! Please check!
Balancing the wheels is a major issue and has to be done very careful. If they are not balanced right, you will get issues on bearings, steering and suspension very fast. Normally you won't crash, but you will damage your car.
Also you have to increase your air pressure on speeds > 100 mph
An other topc is the tire itself. If you drive the car very hard, you will get a "saw tooth" profile (don't know if the english term is correct) on the outside shoulders of your front tires. This will corse the same symptoms, not correctable (throw away the tires or live with it)

Please apologize my English

best wishes from Switzerland,

Hans

Hello 32krazy,

thanks for the warm welcome!
I've the slk32 now for 7 years, round about 90K km (56K miles) on it, no major issues. I use it as a "summer car" next to my VW Phaeton W12.
The only mod is a smaller SC pulley, modified from an original one. Next mod will be the SL55 intake with tubes and original air intake boxes with K&Ns. Also I'm heavely thinking about Woodys supercooler and seperation of the cooling systems, the only thing is I'm not sure about the impact of missing cooling of the engine on lower speed with high power usage (passes in the Alps, I love to drive them in a hard way ).
Forgot the roof module to enable open/close up to 50km/h and operation with the remote.
Mods on the engine of an AMG32 are not very common in Europe or exorbitant expensive, so I really appreciate this forum for its helpful information, great people in here!

Back from a nice drive in the German black forest,
best wishes from Switzerland,

Hans

A few things, I did the typo on purpose. I thought it was funny.

Back to business, it was 1 pound of wheel weight inside the driver side front rim. I now have a mod after me for outing his friends stupidity. Don't you just love internet drama.

The www.texasmile.com event is in a few weeks, so it will be nice to be back among friends.
