Re: autocross junkies
I had one of my best days today at summit point WVA. Got beat because the durn car will not accelorate, the throttle is TOO SLOW>
Get in you car , rev to 1000 and then FLOOR it, please notice the delay in the throttle response. ITs slow and the computer is doing it.......................
I need to see if I cant get the throttle to snap open like regular cars, not fly by wire......aaargue. Woody

Re: autocross junkies
I spent the day at the track today. The Crossfire never fails to impress, now if the driver could get some credit. I'm going back tomorrow because the exotics run on Sunday. Lambo's for lunch (I hope anyway) No one passed me today. A good day, even with the spin. (New tires)

Re: autocross junkies
The Driver's Edge autocross event is Oct. 3 and 4th at Texas World Speedway in College Station - if anyone is interested (see my post of racing S-2000s). It will be my first time to do anything like this. I have put on Koni Shocks and Eibach Springs. The front sits lower than expected (1" but looks like two inches). Now the original front tires rub at times (at top center on sharp turns). The rear is fine even though it was lowered by 1.3". There is still plenty of room on the rear for larger tires.
I love the way the car handles; better than expected. However, I may need lower profile tires on the front (225/35). Any suggestions from you "autocross junkies"? Since the front tires are only hitting the plastic wheel well it may be O.K. unitil it is time to buy new tires. My other option is to put the stock springs back on; at least until my TWS event is over.
I am also dealing with camber issues due to the lower springs. I had to buy a camber kit for the front and the rear (not installed yet). This project is turning into a money pit. I ended up buying a K-mac front camber kit and a rear camber kit from speedybenz.com. Both were rather expensive ($350 for the front and close to $300 for the rear).
I hope I love my first autocross enough to compensate for the expense.

Re: autocross junkies
Tom, I have the sprint booster from day 2.
Please floor the car and see the delay of the engine. My big hemi has a throttle body also and it revs much faster.
Look at your data logger and see the SLOPE of the throttle position sensor, it Ramps up, it is slow to open and when your on and off the throttle many many times this adds up to real delay.
I even stored the boost in tanks of my turbo car to cut down on the spool up lag for corners on my daytona with the super 60 turbo / 300 hp on a 2.2
liter 4 banger.
I have been tinkering for years, often successfully aka super cooler, pulley saver, dual cai, and soon I hope the self tuner for the crossfire, as soon as the racing season lets me be.

Re: autocross junkies
No problem, Woody. Didn't know you already had one.
I agree, even with the SB, the throttle response is very delayed. If I had to ***** and complain about any single aspect of the Crossfire, that would be my fav. This car would be sooooo much more fun with a hard wired throttle.
Hmmm... That makes me wonder, could I somehow wire up a throttle cable to the pedal and throttle body, yet leave the computer-crap connected in order to fool the ECU...? That's worth thinking about.
