Default Head work done, 224 to 318 CFM!!

We just finished up a set of ported heads with stock valves and got a peak of 318 cfm, a gain of about 100 cfm. This is just a teaser. I will post pics tomorrow and the flow results later tonight.

.500" I:94.1 E:14.8

We'll have some dyno numbers on a N/A car and in a few months we'll have some flow and dyno numbers on our 3.7L with these heads but larger valves. No SRT guys have stepped up yet....

Where are those dyno numbers on the NA car? When can we expect that? :P

Good stuff, someone needs to step up and send out some SRT heads. I wouldn't mind doing it..........but I'm afraid of the tuning needed and I have a InMotion tune(and don't want to buy another).

Did you guys just gasket match the intake runners? If not(and you went bigger) what did you do about the gaskets?

The heads are identical so the SRT will flow as much as the NA head. Nothing different except for valve springs. The heads we did were for a NA application and thus we bumped the CR a tad and only increased flow to what was needed. On the SRT we would further improve intake flow and drastically enlarge the exhaust side to balance out the pumping.

For the NA the intake port has not been fully enlarged for gasket matching, but it is port matched to our ported intake. Going larger has resulted in reduced velocity and loss of power on the 3.2L NA.

I know its a 3valve motor so i gues its 2 intake one exhaust? Any sort of price estimate on Blown 32 heads with larger exhaust valves? Are you sending these out or done in shop?

Our cost to port, polish, and do a vlave job is 1500.00. That includes using your stock springs and vlaves, but with new retainers and seals.

A larger exhaust valve may not be necessary at this point. Actually I know it isn't as we have a lot of meat left on the exhaust side to play around with.

Humm? Your not the first to port heads. If you only had 216 cfm to start you must have had a bad set of heads. Is it possible that some one just made a mistake with a few numbers. Any way 318 cfm is impressive if you realy started with only 216 and went to 318. However if you started with 270 ish cfm and went to 318 cfm for $1500.00 it's not impressive at all about $32/cfm.

What's the going rate machine shops charge for cfm gains these days? So if we maxed out the flow and ignored the velocity and say had a flow of 400cfm (hypothetical) then we can charge more? Even though we know it will provide diminished performance because of inefficeincy? You are one sly business man...

Nothing on this damn car is under $1000......jeezus...I could get a brand new set of aluminum heads ported and polished for under $1500. Aftermarket parts for this car= slap in the face!!

That does include disassembly and reassembly, new OEM valve seals, 3 angle valve job, flow testing each cylinder for consistency, and trimming the deck for a bump in compression.

Get an SRT-4 if you want cheap horsepower (+ understeer). You can get 400HP EZ on the 2.5L with a 50 trim, SAFC fuel controller, a bit of porting, etc. I have a stage3 SRT-4 Neon and an Xfire SRT-6. You can't beat the bang-for-the buck on either one, even if my SRT-6 is stock.
