Anything new here?
Anything new here?
Hey guys i know ive been lurking for the last couple of months. Is there anything new out for our cars worth mentioning? Did MD ever show us his 400whp dyno sheets? Is everyone still running 11.90-12.1's? What about that turbo srt6 i figure it should be in the low 11's-high 10's by now.
Im at this point i get with every car where i get bored with it. It just sits in my garage. I havent seen anything new on the market and i think the potential is pretty well tapped. Its the old law of diminishing returns. $1500 will get ya 100hp but that next 25-50hp will cost half the price of a new car.
Thoughts?

Re: Anything new here?
I have a pretty dyno sheet and some time slips, but still no 11 sec. runs.
I'll have more time to play next month and a little into October before the drag strip closes.
But to answer you 240: no there hasn't been anything earth shattering lately. Most of the new stuff out is just tweaking the previous stuff. You never know, though. Woody may come up with something radical.

Re: Anything new here?
The turbo'd SRT is up for sale now.
I hear ya though. It's been really quiet on this forum as well as MBWorld. Makes me want to get back into some vintage iron. I watched an episode of Horsepower TV where they took a junkyard LQ-4 (6.0l LS2) swapped the heads, cam and intake and made over 500 horses at the crank. So I started checking the classifieds for said engine and found some with super low miles for $1,700! Plus there's a sweet 65 Buick Skylark in a lot behind my place that would probably be more then happy with that engine swap.

Re: Anything new here?
Ultimately abigger screw or a turbo swap is the only ways to really add more power... minus nitro but nitro is to much prep for most people they just want a start and go application. I personally would love a bigger twin screw and updated MAP sensor to run it and i would be fairly happy.

Re: Anything new here?
Tend to agree with you 240 - nothing new or earth shattering from a year ago.
The turbo setup was unique and pretty cool - but I'll stick with our SC'er.
But like you mentioned - the latest mods seem to cost 3X more then what they were going for two years ago and no one yet has produced any major gains (HP or TS) from them. There were lots of claims of getting to the holy 11.9X - but nothing so far.
I'm considering a 2010 Camaro 2SS to mod like crazy - but I only have a one car garage and my new work assignment - I tend to be traveling alot so my SRT6 just sits in the garagewith the bikes and my new car hauler just sitting in the sun .... Buying a new car just doesn't seem to make since...
But on the upside - the Texas Mile is just around the corner... Three days of Full-Tilt-Boogie fun....

Don't forget also to take the time when you do the mile Maybe a little video?
Than we can compare your cars with the times of my little SLK32 This would be great.
Edit: According to the homepage there are not many spots left...
