so i actually received a real SRT front bumper from partsultimate.com

they had shipped me a base bumper due to the wrong shipping label. so even though i installed the base bumper, my body shop painted and switched the SRT bumper onto the car. Back to 100%!!!

yes i paid 282 plus like 85 for shipping, i got a base bumper first by mistake and then a few days ago the real SRT bumper showed up. their customer service is not great at all, but they came through for me in the end. now i just have to get my body shop to return the base bumper to them.

12/23/09. Checked on my bumper order today when I was at Dodge for work related business. 24 now on national back order. ETA 2/12/10. Date has been changed 3 times in the last month. Maybe summertime...

That is not a bad price considering you can't get them from the dealership and it's only 35 bucks more than the dealer was charging a year ago anyways. Only thing I'd do is make sure it was looked over with a fine toothed comb before I signed for it.

We could easily have carbon fiber hoods, fenders, and bumpers made for our cars, i mean quality pieces that fit very close to factory, you could paint to match and save weight...but we dont have the quantity of owners to justify any one taking on this venture. And something i have noticed about crossfire owners they are very cheap haha! Guess we are at the mercy of whoever owns/controls the molds...so long as they exist. Hmm, now that i think about it if they shut down tomorrow and none of the chinese remans were available, it would leave a monopoly for someone to step in and do this. Id rather support a local xfire owner who builds parts than a big coorporation. But 99% probably just want the part as cheap as possible.

Please explain what you mean by this. My experience is that Crossfire owners are willing to pay triple to quadruple or more for performance add-ons over what it costs for most cars. For example 800 for a dual CAI. Most any other car like the mustang, you would expect to pay less than 200. We willingly pay 900 or more for pulleys. 800-900 for a custom dyno tune. If anything, I have noticed that Crossfire owners are just the opposite of cheap. Most crossfire owners stick to performance mods by TVT, NW, EC, and LET. Show me something by any of these vendors that are comparably priced to products manufactured for mass produced cars. I guess we are cheap for spending 100+ for an oil change. Or, maybe we are cheap for putting 93 octane gas in our cars instead of 87.

We own these cars knowing that it is not a car for the weak willed or cheap at heart. Inferring that Crossfire owners are cheap is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

haha!

OMG really...i think i touched a nerve w/ you As i will wrap up by saying at the end of this rant there are a few of us willing to pay to play.....for the rest...

Take a look at how many people build their own intakes and supercoolers vs. buy them from vendors. How many people say how cool it would be to make 400+whp but are never willing to invest their own money on ideas to try and actually make it happen. Look at how many n/a owners buy the cheap version of the crossfire and then try to go to great lenghts to make it 1/2 as fast as an srt6, yea i get it...they just wanted a little more performance my a$$.

Is it a coincidence that xfire owners bought what is basically a mercedes at half the price just because they would rather it be a "chrysler"...hmm.

How about when companies like RC Industries make phenominal pillar pods with TINY profit margins and how few they actually sell. How about all the code 3 pullies that are 1/2 the price of the LET/Renntech/ASP...im sure that has nothing at all to do with price...they just wanted less boost.

Or.....gee i want wheel spacers that work absolutely flawlessly but give me your specs rather than me paying you a few bucks extra and buying them from you for your countless hours of hardwork and measurements and you biting the bullet to chance it not working.

How about gee we all want dual stainless exhaust then it is made and advertised for $1000 plus which is completely reasonable and all the sudden you can hear crickets chirping.

Or.......how about no freakin stand alone or self programmable engine mgt. so we can really go ***** wild. I am in contact with people here that can make it happen. But like i said crossfire owners are cheap it would be pointless to offer these items, i actually tell them its not even worth it at least from a business standpoint.

HOWEVER...there are a handfull of us(probably 20 or so) who(while we may still be cheap lolololol hahaha) choose to share our knowledge and research with each other and actually are willing to spend our money to try and chase the low 12's, 11's, 10's, etc. These are the people who are constantly sending PMs behind the scenes(usually the same 20) to create a new product to come out with to make your car better.....just to find limited interest from cheap a$$ owners who arent willing to pay them for their efforts and research.

Do i really need to continue.........

ROTFLMFAO.... Too funny. No, you did not really touch a nerve with me. Evidently, I did touch a nerve with you though. You might touch the nerves of a few NA owners with your statements as well. Well, at least we now know that if we are not in your elite group of 20 that we are looked upon as a bunch of cheap asses in your eyes. Way to go dude. I can see your point though.... just because you can get an A pillar replacement triple pillar pod to fit most any car for $40..... everyone else is a cheap *** for not wanting to pay $450 for one for our beloved XFires. I for one, do appreciate all the work that people do to help us get more out of our cars, and I am willing to pay to play. You are entitled to your opinion just as I am. I just hope that I am able to help others out without an elitist attitude.

Have you ever heard of pride in doing something yourself? I could buy an intake for a premium price, or make one myself that functions nearly as well AND have the pride of knowing I did it myself.

I guess I am SUPER cheap because I bought the cheap version of the XF, the NA, and I bought the cheapest version of the NA, the base. LMFAO, take a look around and see how many guys want a 6 speed vs an auto, we must be cheap as well, it could never be that we wanted a lighter, more responsive car through the turns (not all of us care about straight line racing)

Buying a Merc at Chrysler prices? that was nice, but I am sure many here could have easily afforded an SLK320 or SLK32 but, just as I did, thought they were ugly as sin.

You and the elites have fun with your behind the scenes pow-wows, those of us with our cheap NAs will try not to hold you back too much.....

LOL well it was getting a little boring without MrPhotoman around so someone had to keep the drama going. Besides pow-wows are fun.

Now about backordered bumpers, thats serious business...

Merry x-mas to all...even NA owners!

Didn't you mean the cheap *** NA owners? And... Merry Christmas to you and your elitist "I can spend more than you" club.

I think their is a big misconception about cheap. To me cheap means poor quality. I have spent a good bit more on my mods than many others here and yet they are going faster than me. I don't consider them cheap I think they are thrifty and spend there money wisely. I fully expect to be in the 11's with what I have done unfortunately I am going to have to do a few more mods to get my car where I want it. The reason we cannot get mustang pricing on parts is due to the small production run of our cars not the owners. Yes it sucks but I do enjoy owning something that very few others do and I really enjoy the suprise on peoples faces when they find out what our cars are capable of.

Joy Joy UPS just delivered my new grill so I am going to go put it on.

240M3SRT - I don't know that those who express a desire or thought that something would be neat as being cheap. I also wouldn't say those that do things themselves vice paying a vendor are cheap azzes either. To indicate any XF owner of any model is cheap is just uncalled for. But you are entitled to your opinion....(I'll leave it at that)

Since this thread has already been hijacked.... XRay, I can't wait to see your new grill. Post some pics soon And, by the way.... Everything you have done to your car is first class. One of the most beautiful XFires that I have had the pleasure to see. And you my friend are first class as well. I hope our paths cross again in the near future.
