No just toss that belt wrap thingy called a pulley and get the ASP 178 crank pulley. That will do the trick.

That's just funny right there. The DA here in vegas is right around 6000 this time of year.

Ya i can only imagine that southwest heat is killer. The actual track elevation is 400 feet so 2300+ around here is pretty bad at around 9pm at night. In the early season i had a near 0 DA.

I'm still waiting for your 180 you said you would have this summer, it's August soooo?

Onehundred80,
Are you thinking it won't do 180? Because at 173 it has alot left...
I have been actually hoping for well past 180mph, but due to my present tire's condition I need to replace them for anything over 150 and since the budget didn't take into account the purchace of a new set of tires I can't afford to.
I recently bought an extra set of SRT wheels and hope to mount a new set of rubber on them then I can put my reg set back on untill they actually need replacing. I have been debating on the color for the extra set of wheels for about 2 months now and really want to do something that no other SRT owner has done. It is getting so hard to signal out any personality on these cars. It seems everything that can be done has been done or is copied by several other owners.
It's kinda like looking at pictures of Crossfires, what angle hasn't been photographed? ?
Anyway to make a long story short while I know well over 180 is no problem, my desire may have to wait. That is unless YOU want to lend me a set of brand new "Y" rated tires.
Mike

grt times...I will just watch and learn...but, Mike, giving the RPM's produced, which is usually around 6200 with a tune, and our gear, I can't imagine anything more than 180-190 mph. I really think it is gear bound at that point...but, can't wait until someone proves me wrong...safely I hope...

Just to help you with the math.
180.00000000000001 would be a 180 MPH car.

"Well over" would be sumthin' else.

But seriously, the math to determine the RPM-based top speed of a Crossfire isn't that complicated.

If the max RPM is 6,200 that means that your flywheel is spinning 6,200 times per minute. Fifth gear in an SRT-6 has a ratio of 0.831, and the differential has a ratio of 3.07.

So, for every 1 rev of the engine, transmission spins the drive shaft 1.203 times (1 / 0.831 = 1.203).

For every 1 rev of the driveshaft, the differential spins the rear axles 0.326 times (1 / 3.07 = 0.326 ).

For every 1 rev of the axle, the wheel spins once, which moves the car a distance equal to the circumference of the tire. The circumference of the _stock_ SRT-6 rear tire is 81.77 inches.

So, when the engine revs at 6,200 rpm, the driveshaft is spinning at 7,495 rpm (in fifth gear), and the rear axles are spinning at 2,432 rpm.

2,432 revolutions of the tire in one minute, would mean 145,920 revolutions in one hour.

145,920 revolutions of the tire would move the car 11,931,878 inches, or 994,323.2 feet, or 188.3 miles.

So the gear-limited top speed of an ECU-tuned Crossfire SRT-6 with stock gears and tires would be 188.3 MPH.

Now, it's a whole other set of figures to figure out how much horsepower the car would have to produce to get there. From my calculations it would require 363.5 horsepower at the wheel to overcome drag at sea level, that does not include roll resistance of the tires, which would vary depending on the driving surface.

So, Montana, are you putting over 364 whp to the pavement? You might just get to 188 mph then.

I'd love an 11.9999999999 I suspect my car is more than able but my waistline is holding me back. I'm probably the heaviest SRT6 driver here @ 290lbs.

Thats if you actually get 364 whp at 6,200 rpm. Plus the faster you go the more resistance you get from all sources, so you expend more hp just to to over these forces. just pushing air out of the way takes more and more power the faster you go, and it is not a sliding scale.
I think it would be stupid to attempt this anywhere but Bonneville or a similar wide open space and even then the car would have to be prepped properly. If the engine cut out at 6,201 rpm you would be in deep doo doo.

Wow I'm shocked I'm not the biggest. That's a testament to the interior size and comfortable seating that even big guys can fit and be comfortable.

Speaking of your driver mod. Hitting the supermarket today with my old friend (competitive bodybuilder) he's going to make all the food buying choices for me. Pre-making my meals on the weekends. Lots of chicken, rice, protein supplements, and water. Bleh! I should be down 50-70lbs by next spring. If I do that and remove my passenger seat- that should yeild me another second in the 1/4.

PS I wish I had the ***** to cheat and do winstrol tabs/injectables. I'd be down over 100lbs by spring...maybe sooner.

The high protein diet works, I did the chicken, protein drink, supplements and water and work out 6 days a week. From April through July I lost most of my fat and went from 196lbs to 161.8lbs. I was at a worst of 23% body fat to now 10.8% body fat. Recently I took a few weeks off to hit up some of my favorite restaurants lol but plan to get back on it again starting tomorrow. I noticed that now I really watch what I eat and think about it. I found that it is not a problem to take weekends off and eat one meal a day of what ever you want (within reason of course). Once you get your metabolism up you can burn off those calories pretty quickly.

I do not starve myself at all, i just eat a lot of small meals throughout the day.

back on topic, projectmayhem you need to update your sig times!

Yeah, I am 6'3" 315.

I hide it well, but am still fat. haha.

For me its more abobut portion control... If you know everything that goes into your body, then it is easier to see where you can scale back.

Right now I'm on the, go to India, diet. Where you can't drink the water, and if you do you are guaranteed to lose weight sitting on the throne.

From what I've heard from everyone, they said that no matter how careful you are and how much you like India food you are almost guaranteed to lose 25lbs...

Which I won't mind.

I agree with photoman though...update the sig... rep the 12.0
