because it was owned by m/b

also the slk was made in bremen germany not karmann

also my point with the amg website was that if your srt-6 was a true amg car all thats needed to access the website is your vin #. if it wont allow access then the car isnt a amg vehicle as documented by m/b

as for wiki are you serious? you can put whatever you choose on that website true or not. it cant be taken seriously.
Just 2 points:

1.) The engine that resides in your car & the SRT-6 is a M122 E32AMG; the exact same engines, sir, with the exact same horsepower. As previously stated, Chrysler did not utilize the same stats. in deference to MB/AMG.
2.) The Wikicar's article was put together & finalized by Crossfireforum members. Whether or not you choose to believe it is completely up to you.

As to the discussion about whether or not it's an AMG, well, technically no, BUT, given that, I see no reason why SRT-SIX cannot produce badges that advertise the FACT that our cars are blood-brothers & are all AMG under the hood!

BTW Six- satin black looks cool!!

this page is why wiki shouldnt be used as factual http://wikicars.org/wiki/en/index.ph...edit&section=1 anything you want to write true or not will be published by wiki

i highly doubt chrysler listed lower stats in "deference" to m/b. more likely m/b told them what to post

and lastly someone finally admits that the srt-6 isnt a amg car. THANK YOU!!!

there is a reason to badge a car amg. or zo6 or shelby or m series. it separates the car from the other styles similar to it. what would you say to someone who badges their xfire limited with all the markings of the srt-6? puts in the srt-6 driveline and interior? is their car then a srt-6? no its still a limited xfire with all the addons
when i buy generic cheerios im aware of what they are. i dont put them in a cheerios box in order to impress

it isnt vehemence towards anyone its a true pride in what i searched for and purchased. i could have bought a vette or porsche or bimmer. i chose the slk32 amg for its rarity and exclusivity.

my question from the start was why would you badge a car amg if it isnt one? simple question. what i got in response was how this car the srt-6 IS just like the 32 and everybit an amg as the 32. well it isnt. and no amount of posts parts and badges will ever make it one. sorry the amg is the high perfomance divison of mercedes not chrysler

having said all this i will continue to follow the threads here and post as needed or asked. i think the srt-6 is a true rare and exclusive car in its own right. i see no need to try to make it something it isnt it can stand on its own.
we simply need to agree to disagree
I agree with this.

THE SATIN BLACK LOOKS VERY GOOD ON YOUR BLACK CAR.BUT I THINK ON OTHER COLORS IN WOULD LOOK VERY WELL IN CHROME. NOW ABOUT THIS AMG THING.HAS ANYONE NOTICE THAT WHEN IT COMES TO THE CROSSFIRE.PEOPLE ALWAYS TRY AND PUT THE CAR DOWN.THEY ALWAYS WANT TO TELL US CROSSFIRE OWNERS WHAT ITS NOT. WE CROSSFIRE OWNERS KNOW THAT OUR CARS SHARE & HAVE ALOT OF "MB DNA" AFTER ALL MB WAS MARRIED TO CHRYSLER FOR A WHILE.AND THEY HAD TWO CHILDREN NAME "CROSSFIRE" & "CROSSFIRE SRT6".SO WITH THAT SAID WHY DO WE EVEN ENTERTAIN WHAT THE "MB" OWNERS(OUR HALF BROTHERS)& ALL THE OTHERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT OUR "GREAT FUN TO DRIVE EYE CATHCER CARS.PEOPLE ALWAYS WANT TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF CAR IS THAT & WHO MAKES ITS.PLUS THEY ALWAYS SAY THATS A SHARP CAR & HOW FAST DOES IT GO.

I have said all along that it ISN'T an AMG, but that it is mechanically identical.
AS for the misstated HP,
my Dyno illustrates well that the stock is identical to the SLK32, at 349:

As far as I'm aware, the only non-shared components are the brakes, which are better on the '6. They're from another Benz, the c32, I believe.
Are you willing to acknowledge that the cars are mechanically identical? You're response to me was a straw man argument, as I made it clear that the cars are cosmetically different, and that is all you pointed out.

having never seen a srt-6 in person i cannot say they are mechanicly identical. i do believe they are. as i stated before the pencil pushers at benz werent going to waste good mechanical stock so therein is born the srt-6.
as for brakes my 32 does not share the c32 front brakes. actually the c32 fronts are bigger than the slk32.
cosmetics are a large part of the amg image. it is what differentiates them from the same car style non amg ie: the slk320
what you said in your post was that the srt-6 is a rebodied slk32 . no true. you also insinuated that i was scampering away and hiding. again not true. if i believe to be wrong im man enough to admit it.
for the last and final time badge the car anyway you want. put ferrari emblems on it if you want it wont make it any more a ferrari as it wont make it a mercredes benz amg to those who dont know any better it may impress them to those of us who do know better it will only make you look foolish

In 2003, a friend of mine bought a new CLK 500 from a MB dealer up north. His car was (AND STILL IS) equipped with wheels which are stamped 'AMG'.

According to crazy's logic, this care can then wear the AMG label because its a Benz; was sold by a Benz dealer; and came with AMG wheels.

I just called to tell him its OK to post his VIN on the AMG site.

Thanks

hes more than welcome to try. if it isnt a amg vin access wont be allowed
simply putting amg wheels whether from the dealer or not doesnt make it an amg. this is my point exactly. only the clk55 is the amg in that m/b class of cars. while some came with a sport pkg ie: slk320 sport it had some amg pieces but was still a 320 not an amg 32

fellas do what you choose. im finished defending the amg label. we will not agree on this thread and to try to convince the group is a waste of time. so be well drive fast and remember i respect the car as it stands , a fast 2 seater well designed and very good looking whether its the roadster or the vert.

Hey man, I admitted that the 6 is not an "AMG" by brand only, BUT and a big BUT.......The 6 is is covered with the same AMG technology that your car has which makes it sort of a step child to the slk32. Is it a true AMG? No (Thus the reason I dont past it all over the car). Does it use AMG parts and technology? Yes. That is the best I can describe it to you......

Dear 32krazy,

I had no idea your panties would get so wadded up when I originally made this post. You make it sound like I am trying to commit a fraud and sell someone an SLK32 that is really an SRT6.

Many items on my car have the AMG logo on them INCLUDING the hand built engine that Daimler Chrysler advertised as being individually hand built by the Chrysler Division on their website declaring the features of the car.

By placing the AMG badge on the outside, I am simply acknowledging the components on the inside! As I said in a previous post, would you have me remove those AMG logos from the other components?

I have not seen one comment that says anything derogatory about your precious SLK32, but you are acting like a spoiled brat about all of this. If I want to put a cadillac sticker on my car, I will (but I don't really want to) but recognizing the great contributions to the SRT6 from the AMG division of Daimler Chrysler is something I choose to do. If that offends you, then you get offended too easily!

So from what I can tell, noone believes that the SRT6 is a true AMG vehicle by definition.
Putting an AMG badge on is probably just a way to proudly display the maker of the heart and soul of the car.

Thread unhijacked - maybe .

This started out a simple "which color looks best" and it ended up with an owner showing he knows very little about his own car.
Pull the plastic engine cover and you'll see the AMG logo right on top of the engines Blower!
That sure the heck wasn't installed by a Chrysler employee.
There are far more AMG parts on the car than Chrysler!
Heck put Desoto on it if you like. maybe less clueless people would jump you for that one. Some parts houses have their after market parts mislabled because right in the book at Summit Racing it says Crossfire/AMG for one of the SRT aplications.
Anyone have a Desoto badge I could buy?
Mike
