Talking Rear slicks wore out, camber 1.5 degrees -

Gotten tired of the rear angle and Iam fixing to correct the rear angle on the tires.
What are the desired angles for the front and rear wheels should be??

The tires are out of vertical by about 7/16ths of an inch or a sine of about 1.5 - degrees. I am looking to straighten them up a bit and working to make a Jig to allow the angle to be altered - as soon as I can decide on a reasonable compromise angle.

YOur thoughts would be appreciated, Woody

Woody -

I have the MB front camber bolts and KMAC rear camber bushings installed.

I currently run a -1.3* camber +5.2* caster and +.15* toe on the fronts.

And a -0.9* Camber and 0.24* toe on the rear.

Mind that I've been wacked on the front DS - but I'm still set up a little aggressive

The OEM specified range is:

Fronts
-1.5* to -.09* Camber
4.7* to 5.7* Caster
0.08* to 0.15* Toe

Rear
-1.6* to -06* Camber
0.22* to 0.33 Toe

If you get a camber bolt that puts the rears at 0 let me knw the part number i have been thinking about doing this. I'm wearing out tires fast at the track with this negative camber

Finally, I have my rear camber kit installed. You can see right away as you walk up to the car it has been corrected. Much better.

Left Rear = 0.4
Right Rear = 0.3

I tried to install myself and worked my butt off but the old bushings just would not come out. I took it to a shop that charged me $245 plus $69.95 for a four wheel alignment.

Hopefully, no more wear issues plus it does not look bad from the rear. I believe with my offset along with 15mm spacers, the negative camber was exaggerated.

Funny...
The negative camber is put into the alignment specs in order to help prevent/reduce the tire from rolling onto the sidewall during heavy cornering, and allow full tread contact with the ground on road course tracks.

But so many people are more concerned about the car's ability to go down a perfectly straight 1/4 mile track, and give them even tire wear.

Seems like a shame, somehow.

I autocross and my new slicks are showing cord early on the inner sides. THere is no straight there.

Our angle on stock springs and height is way too much for me, Iam going to get it back to less than one degree. I have a mustang that is wearing the slicks twice as long on the same courses, Iam convinced that the severe angle is reducing my contact patch and ruining my grip, Ill do this fix and see if it makes the difference. Woody ENJOY

Well, the issue I had was I just replaced my tires and the previous wore very fast on the inside it was ridiculous. Another aspect that bothered me was when I was following fellow Crossfires out on TMS going around the turns really gave me a perfect view as to what happens with the rear suspension. While in the middle of the turn (all lefts of course) you would have wondered just how much can the left rear take. The right rear looked well planted but the left was so far out, it was crazy. No wonder this car is hard on rear tires. Very few of us out there autocross our cars and for me, it is a big ZERO percent so I went with what works best for me. You can easily change the camber to anything you want with this kit so no harm done.

This is exactly what KMC claims the kit will do, give you more tire contact. Mine was out so badly, I would guess that I was using only 3/4 of the tire.
