Default Yikes, Warranty Ideas?

Heyy wasn't sure where to post this question = /, so please feel free to move it elsewhere if I messed up lol.

Well I'm looking to get the extended warranty since i got 1 month left on my existing one. But, I'm kinda sketchy about doing it with Chrysler. What do you guys suggest? Get it with Chrysler or do ya'll have any third party suggestions??? keeping in mind im in Texas!!!

Ohhh btw! how would i be able to tell if there was an existing ECU tune on my crossfire? not sure if there is, but I have 3 fast cars now, and the crossfire seems faster than the one i know goes mid 12's.. Gotta say, LOVING this car, any of you guys around Dallas!?

Thanks,
Kolme

i would suggest getting with a 3rd party warranty so you can take to any shop including MB dealership and not be locked in with using Chrysler dealership... downside could be that they are stricter and scrutinize repairs more and will not pay if you've modded your car. you just need to have a good relationship with the repair shop that downside would not be an issue.

I called US Fidelis since they have been advertising. At first they quoted me a deal for 5 years 70K miles 100 deductable bumper to bumper would be $3540. This would be an additional 5 years and not like Chrysler where the max. care for 7 years 70K for $1850 is not really 7 years since my car was put into service in 06 then it is only 4 more years of coverage.
If you try Fidelis I told them it was too high. They called me back and offered same coverage for $2470!

Agree this policy appears to let you take it too any dealer. Two of the Chrysler/Dodge dealers near me in Maryland are on the list to close.

Do your research before just jumping in.The max care chrysler warranty is a good one.I have had it on every chrysler product i have ever bought and have no complaints. Some of these 3rd party warranties are questionable.US Fidelis has had a lot of complaints against them and they were involved in mass mailing scams to consumers telling them their warranty was ready to expire when they were doing business under another name. They were scolded pretty good by the BBB.Here are some complaints just from the st louis area

Hawkview,

Good advice. I have only started to do research. Good to know you have information on Fidelis.
Agree I have extened Chrysler warranty on othe products with no problems. However, during these times with Chrysler I am concerned about my existing warranties and hope there will be a deal with Fiat that will keep these in tact.

This topic has been covered really quite well in the most recent past. The Chrysler Max care is not paid for by Chrysler, it's in fact a 3rd party warranty, so no issues there. It's just a "sponsored' extended warranty and Chrysler gave them their name on it. GM does the same thing. The diff is that it's only good at Chrysler Corp dealerships. There is a host ofissues with the 3rd party companies, the fine print is the key. Ya gotta wonder about a company that quotes one price, then drops it drastically just to get the contract on something like this. I say go with the Max Care and in the long run you'll be happier. if you don't have a dealer then ask max Care what to do with that.

i agree with everyone about doing a thorough research if you're opting for a 3rd party warranty. i for one bought for 5yrs/100K miles bumper to bumper warranty for if i remember costing $1900 and have had filed claims against it with no problems. Well... as long as you have a shop that knows how to talk to their claims department, you shouldn't have problems.

i just checked the company on BBB and it said ".... meets all BBBOnLine participation and Better Business Bureau accreditation standards and is authorized to display the BBB Accredited Business seal."
