.....we are at the track with the new setup and Glen made a 12.22@113 pass, his personal best! Weather is decent 66 deg. Low hum. Da????? LOL anyway, we have his pass seat out and the grille off. By looking at the 1/8 mile mph and the difference in the 1/4 pass, I believe this tune (LET V.2) is leaning out at the top end. Btw, his burnout and stage/launch was perfect! 1.82 60ft hot.

Nice run, but honestly with those mods, weather, an 60' I was expecting better. Have we hit the ceiling on what these cars are capable of? I am seriously starting to think that may be the case unfortunately.

We thought so too! There are bottle necks for sure, but I think it's all in the tune.

Thumbs up Re: Extreme Makeover: Engine Edition

I really like the way the silver is very bright. I REALLY like the valve covers and the dual intakes.

It makes me regret (a little) going with the subdued gunmetal teflon coating for my manifolds, intake, and catch can. (I was going for an industrial look.) It looks great in person, but in photos, it doesn't pop like yours.

Its very discouraging seeing people with all the latest greatest mods put down times that are unremarkable (no offense). I just thought with the manis, dual intakes, etc etc that we would finally see consistent 11's or even mid 11's. Seems we haven't come far since the big three mods (pulley, intake, tune) were proven for low 12 runs. I'm about to say screw it and just go for all show from here out cuz there doesn't seem to be much go after the "big three".

I LOVE the dual Needswings intake setup...................the main reason I didn't buy one and went SL55 was because it was a single tube and looks stupid(I'm a sucker for symmetry).

We need an end to torque control! Are you guys data logging or not. Have you seen how the timing is pulled and boost drops like a rock before the shifts? Is the ECU closing the throttle body too? Wouldn't be surprised. Not to mention that running 13 my car is skating all the way through 2nd. We need an end to torque control!

That is 100% my thinking also.

Chris already announced it but here are my times from my best run broken down:
60'- 1.78
330- 5.07
1/8th- 7.79
MPH- 90.68
1000- 10.13
1/4- 12.13
MPH- 112.82

I'm a bit disappointed as well. I hoped to see a 12.0 or 11.9 tonight. However as Chris mentioned my tune is leaning out up top. 112 is a very unimpressive trap for my 12.1 ET.

The tune coupled with the extra weight- I'm over 280lbs which is about 100lbs more than most of the guys on this forum. That's explains 1/10th right there.

Additionally this was on my stock tires. I think with a different tune (InMotion vs my current LET) , I should see 11's. I don't know why anyone would expect anything better than high 11's from my setup. It's been done by many people already- including Chris (distantpulse) who all run around the same time. The only thing I have that's different is a second CAI.

Next up: InMotion Tune, Install the NW Super Cooler, and get wide-band and boost gauges PRONTO!

with the full NW package and tune, it is an 11-second car. no question. don't be disappointed, running a 12.1 on stock tires is great, ESPECIALLY with your 280lb weight! great runs, i definitely want to know what you run after you richen the tune!

Get that Inmotion tune and you should be in the 11's with a 115-120 mph trap speed. Your driving skills were excellent, based on the 60' time.

115 and 120 mph are quite different in the 1320. But you know that.
Has anyone hit 120mph without nitrous yet? That is the next goal for the SRTs IMO. getting that MPH. These 112-115mphs are getting less and less impressive IMO.

WAY TO GO GLEN!!!

FANTASTIC FIRST TIME OUT WITH THE NEW GOODIES!

you quickly jumped up to the 8th quickest in the world (with room to improve) i believe your still running a completely stock exhaust as well? 11's arent easy, ask anyone who has done it. we have all fought with the low 12's before breaking in and i wouldnt expect it the first time out. the last mod needed for us to break in was the supercooler. add your timeslip to dragtimes.com as thats the most complete list we have going.

how many runs did you get in?

im soo impressed with the 60 ft times on stock tires, ill have to take some lessons from you guys as we blow the tires away whenever we tried it. i bet you had a ton of people commign up to you in the staging lanes to find out what the hell was up with the sleeper that left them at the starting line

did you guys use the distilled water in a spray bottle secret weapon between rounds? (i showed it to chris in MD last year) (tap water works almost as well but leaves water spots on the pretty parts)

112-115mph is impressive for these cars with just a few mods. What trap speeds are you running at the track, they must be really high since you think 112-115 in the 1/4 mile is slow.

Congrats cross hair, you did good!

Low 12's are great with so few mods. Especially with the stock tires. I think the next step is a problem. It's called motor work. Not bolt ons. Be it ported heads, larger valves, cams, larger displacement. But I sure hope the valiant keep going faster with bolt on parts because I'm sticking to bolt ons and want to eventually make it into the 11's too.

BTW, how in the world do you get a 60' like that on stock tires. Can you make us a tutorial? Throw some tire pressure bread crumbs?

Trap MPH is your HP numbers, 60ft is your TQ numbers. As I stated, this tune is great as an 1/8 mile tune 7.6-7.7@90-91mph, but lacks top end (due to lean conditions) for the 1/4. Be patient guys, once we get our new tune, we will be all over 11's, in average weather, on street tires, ALL DAY LONG! Thats right, I said it. Now I just have to back it up! Haha

Yeah I'll have to do that (re: dragtimes).

I got in 3 runs. The first was terrible, slid all the way through 1st and 2nd (got a 2.xx 60') and a 12.49 ET. The second was a great 60 1.77 but a 12.2.

Regarding my 60' and traction. I really don't have much trouble hooking up if I do a proper burn out with the stock tires. I heard some guy giving someone advice at the track to NOT do a burnout on street tires that it will only make them slippery not sticky. I don't find this to be the case- at least not with the stock Michelins.

Distilled water in spray bottle? Never heard anything about that????

Thanks again Rob for everything. All I have to do now is use some of that felt you gave me. My driver's side CAI tube is rubbing against the tube coming down off the back of the mani- it's already scuffed the paint off in a tiny spot. The passanger side CAI is rubbing the corner of one of he coil packs. I'll see if I can reposition it- I never had that fitment issue before the duals (possibly due to tilting the rubber-y up slightly to clear the AC line on the driver's side).
