Default Valvecover leaks

Does anyone have a leaky valvecover? My drivers side is leaking pretty good, for a car that has under 30k that really suprises me.

Actually, it pisses me off.

Just had mine replaced under warranty - they even pressure washed the engine. This is a very common problem with our cars.

My valve covers were leaking when I bought the car with 2900 miles on it. I didn't notice till I changed out my stock air boxes for the Needswings intake. I just recently bought the Needswings teflon coated valve covers and problem solved plus it makes the engine bay look so much nicer.

Just had mine fixed at 1335 miles under warranty. They spilled more topping it off than what leaked out! Sloppy sloppy work.

found the leak when installing the CAI?? That's when I found mine at only 11,400 miles - was taken care of along with my intercooler pump, black tape striping under convertible top, and hazed headlights. I have 14K now.

I think it might be because a lot of these cars sat for 2 years allowing things to dry up - I'm actually surprised nobody has discovered leaking valve steam seals... but then again when people remover their intercoolers they seem to be coated with oil... I'm hoping that is coming from the valve cover breather and not the valve stem seals - an oil catch can or oil separator SHOULD take care of that problem

If you can get it done under warranty then go ahead. If not it's really not that hard of a job to do. Sowardcustoms can get you the part number for the silicone MB uses. The leaks are mainly from the valve cover breathers not the valve covers themselves.

My roadster had some leakage on the driver's side when it went in for it's pre-winter oil change. I had the dealer lightly tighten the valve cover bolts. We'll see if that helps. Otherwise it's out of warranty and I'll have to do the valve cover change myself. I notice the same on my son's '07 but the SRT6 is clean so far.

I bought the SRT at 20K miles but could tell there was evidence of something leaking previously. No problems now thankfully.

They didn't powerwash as thoroughly as I would have liked.

Flemington Mercedes are doing mine today with 55K on car, also the the transmission is prone to leaking at the Parking Prawl.

Mine are leaking too at 9,800 mi. I plan to get them fixed ASAP. Will they stay fixed or are they destined to leak again?
