Was not because of needswings parts(MANIS were not decked and were sent back and rob fixed them and paid for shipping there and back and recoated them I will post that all when its done also)

I will do seperate posts on the manis and the motor once its all done so the facts are straight!

As for signs bad idle in gear and the car shook badly and sounded totally different then normal....you could get on it and it still would run like a raped ape.
Euro-trouble shooted it found the problem pulled the motor tore it down found all bad parts supplied me with new motor and took all my dressing and put it on the new motor.....THEY ARE FANTASTIC!

Jake how about putting up a new thread with photos and description and I will add to it?

I don't know it might be me but a blown motor is a huge deal. To just make a simple comment about needing a new engine because it blew, with no further explanations makes everybodys mind start speculating on the cause. My first thought was what mods did riot have again and which one could have done that. Anyway, this subject most definitely deserves its own thread as this is a big deal to everybody.

Thanks Jake. Also from another thread was choppy idle at start up from not warming up the car. Look forward to the new thread and costs involved. Riot is lucky you have a spare motor and helping out. It's the cost of modding and at some point we all will pass through it, with this car or another. Going fast is expensive. Regardless at what price you start at.

 

Wow, that is crazy! How many miles were on this blown motor?

 

Before any assumptions are made you would need to know the mods done to the car. Cracked pistons usually are from bad detonation pinging/knock, but you can also have the same issues if there was a problem with the oiling system contamination in oil air or fuel. What motor oil was being used. I doubt a 185 pulley would be the cause. Something else probably was the cause, I would like to know if the coating is off the supercharger fins and if it made it's way into the engine. BrianBrave has a 185 pulley with no issues, 240 ran 17.1 AFR on his motor and it is still alive, something else is probably the cause.

C) Your post seemed VERY presumptuous. As much as I disagreed with Riots' "cliffhanger" of a post, I sure didn't take it that EUROCHARGED/LET blew his motor. I would have simply asked Riot, "What happened?".

D) I know for a FACT I wasn't the only person that was shocked by your post.

E) With zero information to go on, I'd say your post was far more out of line than mine was.

At least there will be a new thread clarifying the whole situation. All the questions answered and then some. I asked RIOT before to post up slips and datalogs maybe he will post them in that thread to. Others asked some important questions too. It's all relevant, but really up to him to share. i know the issue on yours, we arent setup to calculate shipping costs to puerto rico so we needed to check usps rates.

Absolutely! Every fake order gets paid with fake money, and the fake parts will ship out overnight!! Don't forget to post fake time slips for after you get them installed!!!

 

I've always practiced caution with boosted engine and low temps. These are boost pretty high stock so the block and all it's parts need to heat up and expand before romping on it. It's just good practice.

 

I always thought it to be common knowledge to NOT beat up your car and go WOT until it has warmed up. I never even go into boost until my cars temp is at least 160*........or 1/3 mark on the gauge. Once it hits that temp. though all hell breaks loose and the right pedal sees the floor quite often.


Sucks that the motor was blown though. Did you do a compression test on it? I recently did one on my 6 while hunting down my "lack of boost" issue and all cylinders were at 140-150psi. I didn't bother doing a leak down test

 

I cool my car down completely between rounds but always warm it up 1 tick away from middle before a pass.
