Default NeedsWing Mani's with NO PULLEY results.

my friends and i had a whole private track day reserved for this setup, unfortunately mother nature screwed us again. so it will be awhile til you get to see my track results. sorry.

so far, here's my impressions of the setup... (DYNO runs are scheduled for friday)
-NW manifolds
-NW Y-distributor pipe from intake
-NW CAI
-NO PULLEY UPGRADE!

....after driving around awhile and letting the new InMotion Rob's tune set in, there is definitely a 'seat of the pants difference!' she pulls like never before!!!! but... it has been 50degrees here, so until it gets really hot, we won't know if i'm running too rich. (the DYNO will tell me friday as well)

even from a roll at about 40mph and 50mph, i can punch it and the rear end gets squirrely and the tires break loose!

i took some pics of the NW manifolds as well as the teflon-coated and powdercoated valve covers. i'm planning on doing twin black powdercoated CAI's to match! can't wait! the valve-cover job is GORGEOUS!
i will take better pics later, i used my iPhone for these!

BEST DESCRIPTION OF THE POWER CHANGE IS I HAD A THE NW CAI AND A TUNE BEFORE, NOW WITH THE MANI'S AND NEW ROB'S TUNE, THERE SEEMS TO BE TONS MORE POWER. AND NO PULLEY UPGRADE.

and as usual, the install was FLAWLESS. everything fit as it should, like it was made for the car.
NW!!!!!

Looks great, dang weather. Oh well you'll get to the track soon enough and put down some great times. This is going to be one of the best non-pulley setups around. Watch out sc pulley guys, this might be on your heels. ET and mph will tell it all. Be sure to get DA to compare.

How much are you asking for the 55 Bell Air?

I've been looking for a 55 Wagon or Diamonte and can't find either....

Sorry for the threadjack jfire

Brian $6800 obo it's a project, and I have too many. I have a guy nagging me for the camaro, but I actually want to start on that with the money from the 55'. I talked to my uncle this past winter and decided to put all my eggs in one basket and buy his. No price yet, I'm hoping he gives it to me. LOL or under $20k. Maybe he will trade me for the 68' pickup. The belair should be a live link to craigslist for pics. I actually went to a small town just past famoso to get it. Had plans for a full restore then bought the camaro, then finished the truck, and did more to my nova. Pretty much spent the $25k I had for the restore. It got bumped and now I lost interest.

mrphoto- more money but safer??? No sure answer right now. To early for all of us to tell. I think my 178 is safe just the same as Brian feels about his 185 and you feel about your SC pulley. It's definately more conservative.
I predict 12.4's with decent DA, and 12.3's with great DA. Your 12.5's is a good guess too. That's a feat in it's own. When the record was 12.4's with chi-town.

jfire- nice valvecovers in black. I bet you want those teflon coated too. I didn't catch that earlier. Oh Rob with the eagle eyes.

the valve covers are teflon coated and powdered, they are the ones Rob made!!!

Cruizin, you ran a 12.7 with just the CAI and no tune, right? wouldn't you be running at least a 12.5 with a tune and just an intake? i think that's believable.

i'm telling you, my car is even stronger now than with just the CAI, and tune. the mani's and new Rob's tune woke her up even more, i've got way more wheelspin and torque. i'm guessing 12.2-12.3
plus, woody showed us that he gained another pound of boost with the dual CAI's which i'm getting here pretty soon. oh, and the IPT valve-body upgrade might get me in 12.1's.....wishful thinking.

It was just an intake. I was 12.7's in above 2000' DA, so you find a good DA track and that tune will get you low numbers. My 12.52 was with my pulley and no tune, running extremely rich. Then rob's tune took me to 12.02. So yes 12.2's is possible. I would recommend drag radials to get every last thousandth out of the pass.

I forgot to mention, those valve covers do look amazing.

I look forward to seeing what times you run.

UPDATE:
after 50 miles, the tune has fully kicked in.... WHOA!!!! runs like a bat outta helll!! the Manifolds and tune adds power you can truly feel. WELL worth the upgrade, even if you lack a pulley upgrade.

if any of you are looking for optimal power without a pulley upgrade, THIS is it!
NW CAI, NW mani's InMotion Rob's tune and supercooler.(and all the other stuff i have listed in my sig...)

Did you do a dyno before the mods so we can see the increase when you go on friday?

Shouldnt stock put down about that and with the SL intake be well over 300?

I guess its all relative, depends on dyno, location, etc.

As long as you see an increase, thats what matters!
