Default E55 Results by TVT Design, 485 RWHP, 594 RWTQ

I know this is not SRT related, but thought you would enjoy this.

The car is an 05 E55. Mods are as follows:
  • 180mm ASP Pulley
  • Kleemann Longtubes
  • 3" Race Cats
  • 3" X-pipe
  • Full 3" exhaust to mufflers (fabbed by us)
  • Modded thermo
  • CM30
  • KN Filters
  • TVT Intake Tubes
  • Magnecor Wires, NGK Plugs
  • LET Tune
  • NO HEAT EXCHANGER
Stock it put down 369 HP and 460ish Torque.

After just the hardware install we dynoed at 427 HP and 541 TQ.

After tuning we put down 485 HP and 594 TQ.

We now hold the record for pulley, tune, headers car.

The car is a monster to drive. If anyone is looking for the next step in car ownership, pick one of these up!

EDITED because I put in the real numbers not from memory.

Congrats Anthony very nice work. Way to give all my buddies with the E55 another option. These are fantastic cars. I've had the opportunity to put one 11.88 on stock tires down the 1/4 mile. They definately are more to handle on the quarter, but around town it's truly a mercedes. I was heavily leaning towards picking one up, but if I make the jump will try to get a killer deal on the CLS55 AMG. Same mean motor but CLS styling. The best of both worlds. Plus less than half price don't hurt.

Gud Jeebus....

If they didn't hold their value so well(I know they don't, but still cost too much for me), I'd pick one up in a heartbeat....

I want a sound clip of this thing like now. 600ftlbs of torque is orgasmic.

The owner will be running it at the track. After picking the car up it turned from a DD to his new toy. We are looking to break all the records with this one. Lots of fun to come.

Sweet!

So how much did all of those mods cost him?

<thinking - plotting - searching AutoTrader.com for an E55 AMG...

found a 2004 with 50k miles for $25k!... too much

found a 2006 CLS55 AMG with 34k miles for $25!... still too much. >

With a few other minor repairs like top valve cover gasket repair, new oil, new coolant, -10 fan mod, STARdas lowering, ECU tuning for lack of front cats, and 3 days at the dyno the total was a little under 7500.00 installed.

I meant we didn't upgrade the HE. Too many people feel that the HE is an absolute must and I just wanted to prove that it wasn't, especially given the fact that the stock E55 exchanger is twice the size as the C32/SRT. If companies offered them for less then 300.00 for a bolt on app it would make sense, but at 700.00 plus install its a waste of money.

Ok, I agree with that. 700$ is nuts IMO, there is nothing special about it other than its made for a "Mercedes" ohhh ahh.

Thought you removed it! LOL
