Actually, they were both taken with a nikon d300. I think the first shot (used 2 off camera flashes) is plenty balanced. It is directly out of the camera.

The second is not an hdr photo, as you suggest. I beleve my bud over exposed the photo, and used the shadow/highligh tool in photoshop to quickly correct it.

Sorry, when I went to reply to your last comment I saw from the advanced reply message box that the car did have front wheels, that did not show up on my screen in the posting. That is a nice photo, simple and uncluttered. I think you have posted some like this before, with graffiti on the wall?
Funny thing is I have had my car for forty odd months and I do not have one photo of it except as shown above.

It helps when you are able to really adjust settings like exposure time and apeture. Point and shoot cameras do not take the best pictures because they rely on a 14(?)% gray balance. The amount of detail impressed me moreover the composition of the shot itself, although they both exhibit good compostion.

As you said the nikon d300 was used. I just looked and it is a 12.3 megapixel dslr. legit stuff.

5....

Clean the front wheels, move back from the car about 20 yards and try it with a high res camera. Concept is good.
