i had this in my Saturn and im sure it was fine for 4 cylinders but ours is rated at 700 cca so i think the 17lbs braille is the best choice

ok now we are talking, but how do you think your old car and this car compared interms of electrical starting load? what cca did your old car's stock battery call for? just trying to do the research as i may pickup a lightweight battery soon. i got my pc680 for less than $100 but alot of them seeem to be $150 plus now. even though ive heard many are the exact same battery with different stickers on them. hawker, westco, deka, odyssey, braille, etc.

yeah the price has went up on those.

i do not recall the specs on it, the 680 is 680cca.

Both batteries look good, just throwing out another option.

You can get the Braille batteries in as light as 6.6lbs...............there's a guy on M-B forum running it in his CLK63 AMG(with 6.3L v8 under hood).

holy crap that is surprising i guess its just the pulse amps that count for the initial 3-5 seconds and they seem very high on these braille batteries

I have a Deka ETX14, supposed to be the same battery that Braille sells. It weighs just under 12lbs. It has died a couple times when I let the car sit for over 2 weeks, but now I have a trickle charger if I happen to not drive it for a while. I had to move my IC tank and CM30 pump to the trunk to make room for my new purple box.

Yeah those are nice but really expensive. Aren't they like $300?

is it an easy retrofit? as easy as taking out the older battery and putting in the new one, and ensuring it stays in place?

Youd have to fabricate some sort of tie down. I just used a couple heavy duty tie straps for now.

I have the same battery. Bought it 5 years ago now. Its been in my SRT-4, 97 Neon, and will be going in a 3rd car of mine. Its serving temp duty in my mothers car at the moment.

Good battery and If I decide to replace the one in the crossfire I will probably get another.

A lot of the Turbo Dodge guys have been very successful at using garden lawn tractor batterys. One guy up on CT never had a problem starting his car, even in the winter.

I imagine that some has already, but I'll ask anyways. Has any one moved the battery to the back of the car? I know BMW does this for better balance. Would it be just a matter a running the large cable through the firewalls? -Steve

No the cable can go underneath. That is where I will add mine. the box is already in the sandbox-garage waiting for next weekend.

I'll connect the power cable to the alternator lug, which is where the started is connected to get the power down from the battery.

This is where the lite battery April fools day joke came from. I wanted to buzz the kno knotts at the drive in scene. Hope you all enjoyed the fun, it was interesting to put together.

Woody ENJOY and Partee

You should make a potato battery to install under the hood too, that would be great!
