Tires - whats your choice?
Re: Tires - whats your choice?
I'm about to pull the trigger on a full set of General Exclaim UHPs. I like the ratings especially on noise and comfort, hydro-plaining resistance, and I like the fact they are the lightest tire out there at 21 lbs. and 25 lbs. respectively.
Does any one here have experience they can share?

Would You Buy This Tire Again?

Would still like to know more about the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 first reviews are very positive (no shipping fee and a rebate out now)
The Generals you are looking at sound like they might have a bit of a hard compound for spirited driving.
There are benefits to a light tire but may not be the best for a car with no spare. I doubt it is light due to Kevlar use.

FP:
I would go with the General's in a heartbeat, particularly if you are looking for a comfortable, smooth ride.
The General's are rated #2 in comfort, just behind the Bridgestone RE760 Sports. Both are a fairly inexpensive tire with good tread wear ratings. I put on the Bridgestones, and it feels like I'm driving a much larger, heavier car ... makes the OEM Contis feel like pencil erasers.
Go for the General's. Good luck.

Re: Tires - whats your choice?
michelin pilot sports. my new black one came with them and i noticed the difference from the conti's on my grey one immediately. The michelins soften up the ride a tad and feel more responsive. plus, their quality is well-established. i thought seriously about the bridgestones and liked their look, specs, and competitive price. i've also had very good experiences with generals. but, in the end, i chose to go with a sure thing at a higher price.
Re: Tires - whats your choice?
I've got 3,000 miles on a new set of Nitto Invo tires and I love them. I immediately noticed a smoother ride over the stock Conti's. There's this 'special' corner coming home from work that I used to take at 45 mph, squealing the whole way -- now with the Nitto's, they don't start making noise around that corner until I'm past 55 mph. I've only been caught in the rain once with the new tires, but the Nitto's handled better in the wet than the stocks did in the dry. The tread pattern is very different and I think it gives my car a bit more character. All this for $1050 at Discount Tire - tires, installation, balancing, TPMS rebuild, and tire replacement certificates.
Re: Tires - whats your choice?
+1 for Nitto Invos. Unlike the tires that were on the car when I got it (runflats - yikes!) I have not been able to make the traction control light blink at me even once with the Invos. They're also very quiet.
With the Invos, you'll think everyone is trying to race you. But don't be fooled, they'll actually be trying to get as far away as possible from the smell of the tires. It is truly remarkable how bad they smell. I thought it would go away after a few weeks, but I've had mine for about a month and can still smell my car from several yards away.

Re: Tires - whats your choice?
I have an 07 Magnum SRT8 and put the Hankook Evo's on it. Hands down, they are some of the best tires I have ever had on a car. I replaced my F1's with these. Not only are they quiet, but they handle much better and my launches are without wheel spin. They were also very cost effective compared to the other tires. I would give these a look and not think that they are just cheap tires. The reviews don't lie and neither do I!
Re: Tires - whats your choice?
SLK32krazy! ... I have the Ultrac Sessanta... Witch I really like, only problem is they only lasted me 10k miles. I am still stock as well. I picked them up from performanceplustire.com They were really good and got here quick.
I found out that the 275/30/19 were I think $30 cheaper than the 255 and the 275/35. Just a heads up if you were looking to get some.
I love the tire great grip in the wet and dry. Only down fall is short life span and once they get low on the wear indicator wet traction goes way down!

Re: Tires - whats your choice?
Alright. I would appreciate some feedback. I'm replacing the rear tires for the first time on my 04' 6-Speed Limited. 225/35 R19's. I think I'm down to either PIRELLI'S or YOKAHAMA'S. (Brands available quickly and locally).
ARE THESE TWO GOOD CHOICES AND WHICH IS THE BETTER OF THE TWO, TO GO WITH?
Both close to $200 ea. OR FOR THE SAME $, SHOULD I BE LOOKING AT A DIFFERENT BRAND?
THANKS, APPRECIATE THE FEEDBACK.
