Default supercharger woes

So I just installed the code 3 pulley on top of my needswings cai, and got a dyno.
I attach the results, showing a back to back with ml last dyno.
So I actually got a power LOSS of a couple HP overall(but as it was on different days I call that "same")....
There seems to be an increase in the hp(this is noticeable on the road from a standstill) up to 100 kmph or so, but it dies sooner at the top end.
The rev limiter is kicking in earlier, killing my power.
I am talking to Brandon and we are trying to work out what's up.
opinions?
Does anyone think the different fuel(98 oc) here in Australia could be having an impact?
Brandon has suggested that I need a HE to prevent the computer from panicking....
What's everyone think?

I wonder if you are leaning out, need to check the A/F while on the dyno, WOODY

the guy said it was too rich, he though that is what's freaking the ecu out.

Those running 100-oc fuel, usually have a “hot” tune to compensate. States side, the highest oc pump gas I’ve seen was 94-oc and no one has encountered your situation with pulley/ intake mods on it. I would have to assume that the 98-oc in combination with your pulley and intake is cause for a tune.

That's very odd. The Code3 pulley is making the supercharger spin faster, thus pushing more air, so you should be leaner, not richer.

One thing to check (and Brandon probably already mentioned this) is to confirm that the bolt holding the pulley on is properly torqued and that the gap between the pulley and the pulley clutch plate is within spec. If it isn't the supercharger won't be engaging reliably or could be slipping, thus the reduced power.

Ooops. That's two things.

Can you ask the shop for a graph of your AFR's? Don't think an HE is going to keep your car from freaking out on the dyno. Unless your car was hot when you got there. Does that shop tune? That may be your next option to maximize your pulley upgrade.

When is the rev limiter kicking in and does it do it out on the roads when under WOT, particularly in 3rd gear?

Well guys, Here's my full dyno, showing A/F...
That's clearly running fatter...11.5, when before the pulley it was more like 12.5.
Could that be at the root?
Something about that making the ecu panic?
Help!

Sorry for the disappointing results; that's never a fun troubleshooting session, but hopefully you'll get it squared away. Frankly, your A/F looks fine - maybe a little rich, but not enough to "freak out" the ECU, and richer's typically better on a S/C'd car anyway.

Can you show the before and after dynos on the same chart, with the torque curve?

NW CAI + Code 3 S/C pulley *should* dyno around, what, 300 on a DD dyno (which OP is using) and 330ish on a DJ dyno?

so any thoughts though?
I don't really know what to expect of the car...
though a greater increase than that seems warranted.
I tested versus another stock srt just yesterday, and from a roll there was no increase in speed, but right down low there was so much power increase that from a standstill I just lay rubber for maybe 3 seconds.
above say, 40mph though, dead even.

Thanks for that info; I won’t make that assumption again. Original post includes your response .

You will see a nice power increase if you get a tune so your a/f ratio is closer to 12.5:1

Tune should help but can't see it being the fix-all here (would love to be wrong, however). 11.5:1 really isn't out of any normal range, and his before and after dyno's hp/tq curves look damn near identical (if everything was fine, it should've added some meaningful rwhp/rwtq, shouldn't it?)

yeah he should have picked up power.

i got a big gain in whp when i tuned from 11:1 to 12.6:1 a/f ratio.

Does he have an old belt on the car, might be belt slip due to a worn belt.

I am running the stock cooling system and it sure hasn't hurt my car any. I have only been to the track 3 times in this car. Once when I was stock, once to a 1/8 mile track and then once at MIR on a 80 degree day when I ran my best time and I also had my trunk completely piled full (tools, luggage, car cleaning supplies, etc) which added an additional 100lbs or so.

thanks for the ideas all,
I AM getting a power increase, it's just way down low...
the amount of wheelspin is much greater than before...just levels out real fast to normal...
Pretty weird huh?
