supercharger woes
Re: supercharger woes
Cooked off the sharpie??????????????????????
The pully should not get that hot, could it be other reasons, Id hate to think that the belt is slipping that much, if so it will burn , toss a belt on ya.
When I stacked pullies and ran over 22 PSIG the belt could not handle the load of over 30 HP on the s/c, it let out a real big noise that was easy to hear as it slipped.
I think your a/f is the issue with the dyno, suggest that you track the ratio while on the dyno for sure.
Woody, enjoy

Re: supercharger woes
on closer inspection I found the mark, it wasn't cooked off.
but all the points had moved, and were no longer alligned.
Are ALL three rings supposed to move independently like that?
Bear in mind it also makes a rattling buzzing noise that I had assumed was due to the non standard bolt, but could be a bearing?
also:
several ppl here have said that A/F seems healthy....

Re: supercharger woes
I may need to get some cheesy fries and a pint to follow, but the three rings, no comprendo amigo.'
There is the pulley / bacl and the three flex bars with their smooth rivets, I never has loose things or Rings. I know there were thin washers that COULD be mounted on the pulley but Rings.........I was asleep in the back of the class on that one???????
When shaken and not stirred, the pulley did not have noise or loose STUFF that I remember on my Code three pulley.
Shoot up a photo please. The rings on theback of the pulley were wear surfaces and not suject to motion, so I dismiss that as a possibility. WOODY??????

Re: supercharger woes
Its early, I dont even have my colors available yet, but the two outer rings should not see free motion. the inner is the bearing area that spins but what I saw on 2 and 3 are the bearing and the retainer that should not be free to spin.............It may be the noise, thanks for the picture. watch it and let us know.
The bearing should not be free to move in the retainer. Early Woody

Re: supercharger woes
aussie...I just caught up on this thread...get your new pulley, but when installing it, buy yourself a new belt, cheap investment, make sure you shim the pulley correctly as per instructions included by Brandon....you should be in the mid 12's easily, even with a bad start at the line...I was at 12.6 before my tune, with bad tires on a 90 degree day....now with good tires, a tune, and good weather, I am at 12.2....nothing fancy....good luck my friend...
Re: supercharger woes
to anyone still keeping up with this:
Basically, Brandon at Code 3 determined it was a bad batch of pullies, and offered to send a new one. he moved the shipping date a couple of days, due to demand I think, but if he sent it on the last date he gave, I should have it by now. He hasn't responded to my emails for around a week...
