Default a little disappointed...recent DYNO

should i be?

with SL55 intake & resonator delete my DYNO run today put down 288hp to the wheels....('DYNOmite' dyno chassis)

seems a little low....

just shipped my ECU to inmotion, and am almost done installing the new NW supercooler!
hope i get some better gains after the ECU tune!
also installing the new manifold gaskets with my Code3 spacers.

I did a little research, and read that 'DYNOmite' dynos tend to give lower numbers... anyone hear this? i found this to be the case on 12 other forums so far...

Your probably about right for what you have done. The tune will give you another good bump. The super cooler wont give you more, it will just keep it longer. What kind of dyno were you on? I have been testing on a Mustang and they are lower than others.

240M3SRT put down 284 stock!!!! Geez!!! i hope the difference in DYNO's is the culprit! otherwise, i may go back to the NW intake!

i did see another post on here with people putting down 266hp stock, so maybe i'm alright. the DYNO i used is called a 'DYNOmite' dyno.

ROFL no reason to do that...

Ill honestly bet it was just the dyno, not your car. But i do thing the single 3" CAI is the best.

On a dynojet dyno I put down 292 with only K&N filters - I'm pretty much at sea level and it was a nice 76 degree day or so

I don't do dyno's because they don't tell the whole story, but will vouch for the tune. It will definately make a nice difference.

That's probably about right. I put down 290 something stock on a dynojet. So with the tune you'll have, you'll see a much better difference.

From my understanding the resonator delete doesn’t account for any noticeable hp. Dyno’s are good for tuning and comparing baselines, don’t compare your numbers to anyone else's numbers. So now you have a baseline, get that tune in, re-dyno and see the increased hp ! No need for disappointment .

so i just talked to inmotion tuning. they said the SRT-6 never gives accurate dyno results because even pulling the fuses 17 and 18 never TRULY shuts off the traction control!!! so i should not be disappointed.

thoughts?

I’ve pulled fuses 17 & 18 during dyno secessions and from my experience traction control was not an issue . Look at it this way, if you take off the SL55 intake and redyno with the stock setup, you’re numbers would be lower than 288 significantly. One more thing, don’t use your highest dyno number as the barometer. IMO, add the pulls together and then divide for a better picture of actual rwhp. You shouldn’t be disappointed regardless of fuses 17 & 18 .

If your dead set on a reliable dyno than find one that spins the front wheels as well. Then there are no excuses. Take into account the weather unless it's inside a fully air conditioned building.

With the proper tune - you will never have to pull fuses and will dyno to RPM redline - on any two wheel dyno machine.

This Saturday I should be getting my car dyno tuned with the mods in my signature. I will post the results. I actually have no idea what it will read just want to makesure the AFR's are dialed in and I don't have any lean conditions.

I have discussed this with James and he told me the same thing. However, im not sure i agree. Id like to know how he thinks it will limit power...by how i mean what it will literally do to hinder power output(pull timing, apply ABS automatically, close TPS, what?). If its the last one, monitoring TPS is a simple matter of datalogging...
