SRT6 "Hiccup" on take off
SRT6 "Hiccup" on take off
I have searched and searched but can’t seem to find a post that really resembles what my car has been doing since day one. First, let me say that the car did this when it was bone stock. Each morning, when the car is cranked for the first time, at roughly 1500-2000 rpms under mild load, the car would “hiccup”. An ever so slight hesitation where the car would seem to momentarily stop accelerating and then recover. This hiccup as I will call it, lasted for less than a second and then not really appear again under normal driving. I have obviously modded the car since then and was hoping that the hiccup would cure itself as I replaced stock parts with new ones. I changed the air intake, supercharger pulley, added a sprint booster, and LET Tune. I have had the “faulty leaking “ sensor on my transmission replaced and have fresh transmission fluid in the car. I have 12,000 miles on it and have changed the oil every 1500-2000 miles. Nothing affected the hiccup and for last year or so, no change in the symptom.
Here is the thing….the hiccup is now getting worse. It used to be a once a day thing, now it is happening all the time under mild acceleration mainly from dead stops. Has anyone had this issue or have any ideas of what I should check? It does not happen under full throttle take offs, and I cant really tell if it happens on the freeway because this car builds low end boost so quickly. From take off, the car is still at a vacuum and not boosting when this occurs so I do not think it is the supercharger engaging but I could be wrong. My first though is transmission related but I am not for sure.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Re: SRT6 "Hiccup" on take off
I have the same hiccup on mine and I only notice it exactly as you've described. Only under low load and leisurely acceleration. I however suspect its the supercharger clutch engaging because of when it happens. Always at the same RPM. If I move out briskly it doesn't occur even the first time I use the car for the day. However it will do it after driving for a while if I'm stuck behind a Granny leaving a light, or similar situation, just not as noticeable. Soooo, your not alone.

Mine does it also, but only on the first press of the throttle. I always assume it's the electronic throttle control calibrating itself. If you notice, you can always pop down the gas for just a split second while creeping along in say a parking lot or deck, and nothing will really happen apart from maybe a little rev or lurch if you really push it. But a quick jab at of does next to nothing. There's always a bit of delay in the throttle. What do you think?
Re: SRT6 "Hiccup" on take off
Mine does it....but only when its sub zero out.
Soon as it warmed up here a week ago or soo it didn't do it.
Only did it when first coming out down my street and leaving the neighborhood.
Then went away...I tried and tried but could not reproduce it until car sat long term and took it out in the cold again...and Damn if it didn't do it again.
But once it was warmed up ...it didn't do it??
Been scared its the SC clutch going?
At least now I feel better its not just me...sorry to be of no help.
Oh and I beat on my car not baby it so I felt I did it thats why I feel better that I am not alone.....
Been waiting for it to blow up and then take to the dealer and go "fix it"

D-bag. But funny as hell.
Re: SRT6 "Hiccup" on take off
As the song goes, I can see for miles and miles and miles......
Having a data logger is useful to see the ignition, throttle position, boost, and several other things. It would give you a real time view into the engine operation. You can record everything and pull out the sd memory chip to scan it all on your computer, or simply have a passenger watch it on the display for you, safety first.............
Also Sadly, if I had the data logger sooner I would NOT HAVE INSTALLED GAUGE PODS. THe Zietronic and display is more complete and compact. BUT there is no way Iam gonna take out all the wiring, connectors, and sensors, did I mention connectors.........phew.
Weekend date night again, yippie...............Party safely, Woody

I wired the SC up direct and the car doesn't like it! Basically won't run, undriveable. Worse than when you over temp. Car knows you are trying to fool it and it doesn't like it.
Anybody else try this besides me? Same result?
