Default 2-Tone paint

A friend works at a car shop. I can get a good deal on a custom paint job, should I do it? See attatched photos; I apologize for the quality, they were done on my decade old computers paint program.

Maybe a two tone blue would look good.

The picture makes it look alright but i think a major like that from blue to black wouldn't look good. Possibly something more subtle

No don't do it. If you must have something, get a talented pinstriper to follow the body line with something subtle but classy.

I hate 2 tone paint, so I'm going to have to say no.

Don't think I would do this myself.

I like two tone paint jobs but the most important aspect is having the paint come down a few inches on the sides. Very important. But most two tone modern cars are box-like cars, like chargers, mustangs, 300's, so it works a little better than the rounded crossire.

But you're onto something...

if YOU like it, then do it. it's your car, your dream, your fun.

try and pursue your dreams and make your goals before Obama makes you start paying for other people's dreams/laziness.

I can see where you are going with this. If you search for images of the Bugatti Veyron (slobber!) there are loads shown with a black bonnet/roof over a blue body. However, the very defined bonnet on the Veyron gives a clear boundary where logic dictates the black paint should stop. The Crossfire is a very different animal. I personally like two tone jobs, but I think your proposal lacks subtlety, and the transition point between the two colours doesn't work (to my eyes, at least!). However, it's your car, and it is not for me to stop you if the design works for you.

Whatever you decide to do, have fun!

Although I am not a fan of two tone paint jobs, the lines on the xfire dont really complement one. I have seen a 2 tone xfire and it either looks like a police car or a hearse.

I would get a nice paint job done in one solid color.

I'd take the color down a bit more on the sides. Take a look at Kicker's SRT6 and you can see what they did for their 2 tone. I did a few options for you.

Maybe a different color, like silver ? I think the two-tone on the veyron works because they use non-metalic colors and they are more vivid. I like the line you are trying to follow.

Dude, paint it white! I think most can agree that a white or pearl white (Infiniti color) SRT-6 would be amazing!!!!

As long as you don't intend to sell it you can do whatever you like. The reason I mention this is because if you decide to sell you will never convince someone that it wasn't wrecked or damaged requiring it to be painted

I love two tones! I would avoid strong contrasting colors it chops the car up. Going farther down the side with a good design would look especially cool, but you need someone with talent to pull that off. If the car was white you could use about any color but that blue....someone suggested silver that's one that would work. I personally like blue and cream but that's not for everybody.

MetalMilitia, if you're really serious about doing a custom two-tone paint job, I think it would come off looking better if you went with a similar "vintage" style that was used on these "classic" cars.
