Default Should I be worried?

Hello people, as above my little bro phoned me this morning confirming he has purchased a VF super charger for his VW R32. It will be fitted in a couple of weeks and should give 320 bhp. (crank)
I have had a play in the past and if its dry I'm gone, slightly damp and I have to concentrate!
I have not had the code 3 on mine yet so what are my chances?

Also if he fits an intercooler the boost can be raised a little to give 360 bhp. He blames me and the SRT for his drastic measures as his has felt a little lacking after a run in mine.

I believe the R32's are AWD which will leave you at a BIG disadvantage off the line(0-60) at the very least.

Yea those are pretty cool cars but too bad they dont come boosted already. I have a personal rule about boosting non boosted cars...

My buddy works at VW and I went to visit him one day(months) before the current R32 hit the showroom floors. I drove my 450rwhp Charger SRT-8 that day and as I got out of the car one of the sales guys asked if I was there to buy a car to which I replied "you don't sell any cars that are fast enough for me". He then had the nerve to tell me that I should buy the new R32 because it would "smoke" my Charger. LMFAO.........stupid sales guys.

you know.... i find myself so often coming up against ummm... how should i say this without being offensive...?.... um, "Younger-people's-tuner-cars," like the Evo, the WRX STi, turbocharged civics, turbocharged and supercharged jettas etc...... and they always end up disappointing me. i've crushed countless evo's STi's turbo civics, VR6's etc. the local college here has a big auto-department, so there's TONS of these cars rolling around here and a lot of street racing on the back roads. i have maybe ONCE seen one of these 'fast & the furious' -type cars truly impress me in my life at the track and on the street. (a turbocharged and nitroused honda S2000 with a fully built forged motor and tranny) in all of the cars i've owned, i've never lost to 'one of these' kinds of cars, no matter what they added to it.

maybe it's poor driving through the gears, or not enough back-pressure from ENORMOUS exhausts, turbo-lag, poor tuning, etc. but a powerfully built factory-boosted AMG car never seems to get caught in someone's rearview mirror. in fact, i ran a dead-even race against a friend's CLS63 last week!(only up to 80mph though)

also, FWD? from a dig, not so 'sporty.' AWD? very cool, but not when you have like 3-seconds of turbo lag! now, V8's, that's a different story! ran against some very quick, and very cheap camaros and firebirds! raced a really quick mustang cobra but it threw a piston mid race..................and another cobra that caught fire......... and another cobra that broke an axle........(this all really happened!)
i don't race cobras anymore, for fear that they might hit me with a piece of their car or an explosion.....

another friend of mine has a new GT-R on it's way, and i'm feeling the need for some upgrades

so, go race his VW, you'll probably win. if not, just don't tell us about it! kidding!

Supercharger on an engine with 11:1 CR should be interesting.

your car weights what, 3300? R32s weight about 3250-3300. If/when he puts the blower AND IC on there, he is going to make 360 at the crank? If those are the numbers he will make, you should pull because you have an intake and tune which puts well over the 360 crank numbers.......not to mention that he will lose more power because it is AWD and there is more loss through the drivetrain.

OK Peeps!

My bro has now had his charger fitted and it makes 348bhp at the crank!! Just in time I have had the code 3 installed.........well from a standing start........

No 1: A crap launch from me (pressure of trying to beat my little bro!) way too much spin and he pulled half a car then I walked past from 40mph+
No 2: Rolling in 2nd about 2500rpm and I walked away easily but very impressed with the conversion. If it was anything less than bone dry then I would not stand a chance due to lack of traction.

Beware of blown R32 golfs! we have a local one pushing 650bhp!

On a separate note I have decided to have a rolling road tune (the only way to be sure it works properly in my opinion) What do you guys think I should be laying down with my current mods? I will report back after I have it done (Thursday)

Laters....

Lee
