Default Warranty up in 15 days- problems neeing addressed

My warranty is up in 2 weeks. The car goes to the dealer tomorrow for an oil leak from gasket near oil filler cap. (had been fixed once),
Also both seats (Butt portion) do not heat.
My Question is: Are there other items I should have checked before my warranty is up? The supercharger pump has all ready been replaced as has both front rotors and one valve cover.

Rad fan has a tsb to be replaced,, tell them to check the motor mounts for cracks ,,,tranny pan leak and valvebody upgrade,,,cup holder,,, dose one or both fog lights still have the chrome cover over the blub if one is broken they have to relpace both because they no longer have the old stile (they nust match)
that is all i can think of for now. jim

Like you my warranty is up in 1500 miles. She is currently at the dealer. The headlights replaced last week. (They fogged up before I got home and the TSB kit is now been put on.) Saturday the motor mounts went bye bye at the Drags on the 11th run. Have yours checked. My daughter's MM's were replaced the week before her 3/36 was up.

Check the plastic next to the seat controls. Because my seats were removed twice to replace the heater mechanism, it needed to be replaced. Is the center console peeling? Do you have a slight tapping sound in the engine? Have the lifters looked at.

Good luck

If I think of anything else I will yell.

I assume you have a coupe?????????

If you have a roadster, check that the rear window isn't coming apart from the top. easiest way to find out is to hold the "top down" button until the rear part of the top folds up perpendular to the body (which I belive is the source of the problem) before the cover opens up.

Thanks guys, Mine is the roadster/convertible srt6. I have 15000 miles on it. I have had the SC pump replaced, both fog lights, one valve cover, both valve cover gaskets/sealant leaks fixed once before, rear of top would not latch and needed adjustment, Battery replaced, and both front rotors.

I will ask for the motor mounts to be checked and that all TSB's have been performed. I see no signs of rust on doors or wing. I am not aware of any tranny pan leak but will have it checked.

I kind of wish I had bought the manufacturer extended warranty while it was new. I bet it is expensive now!

Do the math I recently purchased the 7yr/100,000 mile bumper to bumper max-care for $2460 @www.chryslerwarrantys.com/maximum_care.cfm which in reality is a Chrysler dealer selling on the internet full payment up front took it to my local dealer and he matched and spread over 12 months with no interest 05 Ltd roadster with about 35,000 miles and 34 months at the time $100 deductible two months later had to have both front seats (not backs) replaced for heater failure you will get an additional 64,000 miles and/or 48 months that works out to $0.04 a mile or $50.00 a month with gas @$2.00 a gal and assuming 25 mpg you are paying $0.08/mi just for the gas this can be purchased anytime before you reach 48,000 mi or 48 months wife's car and she will get to the 100,000 and 7 yr just about the same time our toy( notice I say her and our) is a 05 SRT roadster with 9400 mi and 35 months I purchased on Dec 30, 2008 the 7 yr/50,000 mile zero deductible for $1360 bumper to bumper, max care paid them up front on this as they were offering a Garmin 255W free if ordered before Dec 31 you might want to check with todk64 who is a member of this forum as he has great deals also good luck

Mickey, don't be deceived my the Max Care warranty. IT IS NOT BUMPER-TO-BUMPER. If it was, I wouldn't be going through my top issue. I was told this by my local dealer and I have called Chrysler Serivce Contracts to confirm that the top is not covered along with some other things (headlights, fog lights, anything cosmetic).

The Asst. Service Manager told me that they've fired some salesmen because they've said it's bumper-to-bumper (the factory warranty is truely bumper-to-bumper) when it's not. I have to call the Chrysler Service Contracts and the dealer I bought it from to take care of it since it's such a costly fix ($2200) due to a defect from the factory which should be recalled.

If it's mechanical, they'll replace it. I still love my car though

Gator hope I'm right and you are wrong it could go either way depending on with whom you are talking
Quote from the Chrysler brochure
Maximum Care is an exclusionary extended warranty, ofter refrerred to as a "Bumper-to-Bumper warranty and as such if its not excluded, its covered.

"The only parts and labor not covered are"

MAINTENANCE SERVICES AND ITEMS USED IN SUCH SERVICES
GLASS, PLASTIC LENSES
BODY AND PAINT ITEMS, INCLUDING SOFT TRIM
WEAR ITEMS SUCH AS MANUAL CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, BRAKE PADS, SHOES, ROTORS, DRIMS AND BELTS ARE NOT COVERED AT ANY TIME
SNOW PLOWS, WINCHES AND TRAILER HITCHES

Now with that said I am now reading the fine print excusions in the actual contract furnished me and they say CONVERTIBLE TOP FABRIC is not covered guess you win

but that's the issue at hand, the problem isn't the fabric, it's the window and adhesive used to adhere the window to the fabric. If the window separates from the top there's no way to adhere it back....you have to replace the whole top. Makes no sense

Here's how bad mine is at the moment. Keep in mind the actual fabric of my top is in excellent condition, only minor shadowing in the folds on the passenger side. When the top is fully up water does leak inside and is't as drastic as it looks now but go over the whole outside of the window when it's in this position. If you find ANY separation get it fixed. Feel free to show the dealer you're going to these pictures because it will eventually get this bad. And apparently this all occured within 1100 miles cause Chrysler won't cover the whole thing since I didn't "catch it" in time.

Bad Side

Normal Side
