Install 6 spd manual transmission into SRT6
Re: Install 6 spd manual transmission into SRT6
"Daimler Chrysler never put a manuel in the SRT6" - probably two reasons, emissions and reliability I do know Chrysler used the 6-speed behind a ~300 hp Pentastar in the Jeep Wrangler. BTW no manual in the SLK32 (same as SRT) either. It also might have related to the cost to certify but that would have been US only. Do know that there is a problem with a puff of HC (unburned hydrocarbons) on a shift even with an NA.
I once helped a friend with reprograming a Buick Reatta 3800 (automatic only) to accommodate both a L67 and a Getrag five speed. It was not a trivial task and I had a good disassembly to work from.

Hello Pizza Guy
Quick question - Can you mod the six speed ECU to handle an AMG engine?
I am doing, come hell or high water, an AMG engine into my Base 2005 six speed car. Two issues I've run across so far are 1) can stock ecu be reflashed or do I need a Halltech? 2) Where/who has or can make a flywheel that fits the AMG engine? If needed, I can put a SRT ecu in my base but I am guessing this would create more issues than the other way round.
Full disclosure: Back in late 2005 I did not buy my used 2005 Crossfire from a Dealer, but I did go to one to buy a second key. Then I had to go to the MB dealer to get the key programmed. Hasn't been near a dealer since
