Default Potential Buyer SRT-6

Hello everyone,

I'm really interested in purchasing an SRT-6. I searched the forums but my question is more specific. I would like to know what problems if any, the car has down the road, lets say 70000 miles? I know that there are not many SRT-6's out there with that many miles, but any feedback will be appreciated.

Im simply looking for notorious problems that occur in every car.
Thanks,

Regul8or

i/c pump failure
tranny leak
cup holder break
heated seat go out
handles peel and cut your hand
most fun under 20 psi boost leading to run into walls at high speeds..the usual.

Yo possible new owner guy.
Welcome to the forum! LOTS of great info can be found here. Try the search function at the top of the page for "common problems".
I did the first search for ya and found this thread to get ya started.

I've only got about 33k miles and my car has experienced the tranny leak, inter cooler pump failure, valve cover leak and bad heated seats. Check around these are pretty routine problems here.
Good luck on finding your car!

Hi there.

Just wanted to add that these problems, though annoying, won't prevent you from driving the 6. The tranny leak should be taken care of ASAP (and most llikely any 6 you pick up will have been fixed already) and the IC pump failure really puts a crimp on performance, but these problems won't cause you to be stranded.

Ditto on these issues. I've had them all and corrected them. I don't anticipate any more problems as it feels a solid as when new. I now have 36k on it and just left warranty.

Problems or no problems...this is the best hp for $$$$ you will ever find...hands down...if you are handy at all and love cars, this is the car for you. You will be able to stay with many $100K cars for only a fraction of the money. All the problems mentioned are easy fixes...and other than SC temp sensor, I haven't had any other problems in 23K miles...

It seems the tranny leak and IC pump are the most common problems.

Tranny leak is a DIY on garage floor, takes 30min.

Replace the IC pump with a Johnson pump and never look back, just wire it in it super easy.

for the most part you should see little to no problems. I havn't seen any problems yet, but I also don't drive my cars hard!

look for door rust before purchasing, and get a clean car that was driven responsibly.

And have fun.....half the fun is the hunt to get a good srt-6.
