Has anyone tried adding an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to the fuel system to get a little more out of the injectors at a higher pressure?

How many hp does it take to run above numbers? check it out on a hp calculater! I haven't dyno'd in a while but have put up well over 400 to the wheels with all stock fuel components. Im on an LET tune. IIRC you are running an inmotion tune, right?

Are you running your car in 50 degree or colder weather?

What AF gauge are you running and exactly where is the sensor mounted?

Isn't your kit WET though? Injectors covering the extra needed fuel would really only be a concern on a dry kit. The fuel solenoid takes cars of the added fuel for the nitrous. In that case the fuel pump would be the determining factor.

Some of you may have seen on a different thread that I installed a custom-built 190.5 pulley. I had my intake manifolds off a few days ago, and I'm still running rich -- black tailpipes, raw fuel odor in intake passages. So I don't think injectors are too much of a concern, although that's been one of my main concerns. I'm installing methanol/water injection soon, which will ease that problem, if it exists.

I installed a boost gauge this weekend, and I'm running just over 20 psi max with the 190.5 pulley alone.

And no, I don't have my tune yet, either. I'm going to get the methanol/water injection installed, then get the tune to take into consideration all the mods I've made.

I'm interested in videos of SRT-6's with sound. From those I've heard, mine runs MUCH quieter, and I'm trying to get a sense of whether it's mine or the louder ones I've heard that are the anomaly?

How many miles have you been running the 190.5 pulley? Have you ever dyno'd to see what you air/fuel ratio is? Could the richness just be from everyday driving and you are actually running lean while hitting the 20 lbs of boost? That's where my concern is.
My exhaust is stock and I consider it to be very quite too. Was thinking of changing it but it's more fun to woop up on someone without all of the drama of screaming exhaust.

I only have a few hundred miles on the 190.5 pulley. Seems generally to run richer since installation, but I don't have an A/F installed. I kind of think that the ECU, not being pre-programmed for so much boost, is over-compensating. Will be interesting to see when I get the tune.

The noise I was referring to (sorry, you hadn't seen my earlier posts) was not exhaust noise, but engine/supercharger noise. Mine is so quiet that others swore I didn't have a S/C! And similarly, when I took off the stock intakes and installed only high-performance cone filters (straight to the y-piece, so no silencing whatsoever), I got no more intake noise, while others also said they experienced a noticeable difference.

IIRC dont you have ported heads and ported SC? Or was that someone else?
Just curious.

Yes. heads and supercharger are ported and polished and gasket matched.

Yes as stated above my kit is wet, I agree that the fuel source for my kit is supplied by fuel pump and injected by fuel solenoid. But the overall afr must be safely in the 12.0-12.2 range with correct timing before the first drop of nitrous ever gets sprayed. And I have never had trouble staying safe through out the whole rpm range.

Inmotion tune+ piggy, FJO wideband right after warm up cat straight into datalogger. Been running the car for a year now, through lots of temp ranges, many tunes , many mods, and have allways been able to keep it in the safe range. My only point is before we all just assume the injectors are the problem, more research is necessary. Our injectors are HUGE as far as modding goes, I don't know of many cars that have bigger injectors, even on big hp V-8's. If anyone can name some cars with bigger than 42 lb. injectors please let me know.

Any high HP FI motor 4 cylinder will have larger injectors, and a lot of 6 cylinder ones as well.

I'm pretty sure the stock injectors are 34.8ish lbs but run at 44ish due to the 4 bar fuel pressure.

Here is a nice fuel injector calculator:

http://www.witchhunter.com/injectorcalc1.php4

shows lb to cc and volume required for hp level and so on.

Our Bosch 280 156 304 (MB# 113 078 01 23) injectors ostensibly flow ~45.8 lbs/hr or 482 cc/min at 3 bar/43.5 psi, and 51.6 lbs/hr or 542 cc/min at the system’s design pressure of 3.8 bar/55.1 psi.

Thanks for the correction Splinter. I'm deep into the NA cars and most of the FI info I have is from C3 or LET.
