SRT-6 Performance Question
Re: SRT-6 Performance Question
So I was reading back in the thread where you said you were looking to pay 52k for it... Two questions: First, how much did you end up paying if you don't mind me asking (not including fees and such). Second, when you said you were looking at paying 52k is that in USD or AUD?

It was 49990 before stamp duty etc and thats in AUD. I ought to consider moving to the states your cars are so much cheaper although now the aussie dollar isnt anywhere near as close to the USD as it was a month ago

Re: SRT-6 Performance Question
In case nyone was wondering, that is $31,566.31 USD.
Which in my opinion is not bad for a new, never-titled SRT6.
Glad to hear you love the car...
I think you need to go take pictures at some serious Australian landmarks... with the crossfire in the picture too, of course.
That would be cool to see

Re: SRT-6 Performance Question
Good find - I had to take a second look as an SRT6 exactly like yours was shipped from here in NZ to AUS for a dealer , I should have written down the Vin # . My SRT6 Roadster is also an '06 build, it makes you wonder if we here in Australasia may have ended up with the last run outs ?
Anyway, if it is anything like mine ( also purchased brand new ) then wait till you get around 8k on the clock, they seem to loosen up and really start pulling hard - lock it in 1st and turn the traction control off, stamp on the gas and hang on - its addictive so be warned
All the best my Aussie friend

Re: SRT-6 Performance Question
My 1st service is to be done early at 1k roughly about 1000miles as well in your terms. What would they be doing for this service? Im going to get an oil change if that isnt already the service required. From experiance which services cost more than others? Im guessing the 1st one is minor? I had a race last nite, my first race against a Ford XR6 Turbo. You guys probably wont know this car, same name as your ford but different car, its Australian. Basicly a 1.8 tone car with 270kw (362hp) I tried to race from the lights but he wasnt interested or wasnt aware i was keen to have abit of fun. We got to about 40mph before he decided to race in which case he got half a car on me before i reacted... within a second or 2 i was level and we were neck and neck for what seemed to be a further few seconds in which case i think when i got into 3rd i pulled half a car on him and maintaned that to about 90mph and then shut down. It was my first little street race and i was happy with the result. He then slowed down and stayed behind me, i did the same hoping for one more go at a lower speed but he wasnt keen, didnt even look at me, i dont think he was impressed with the result! Most people here dont know what an SRT-6 is so nice to spread the word
Re: SRT-6 Performance Question
Congrats! It appears that the few 06 SRT's ended up all around the globe. I bought mine with 60 miles in June of this year and I live in Puerto Rico. Paid $35,000 US dollars and couldn't be happier with the car or the deal. I had the oil changed right away. The dealer assured me that even though the oil had been in the car for 2 years was OK. Ok for them perhaps but not for me. Your going to shock a lot of people with your SRT.

Re: SRT-6 Performance Question
Nice car! And nice price. $31K USD for a true sports car, not bad. Not even a $45K USD Mustang GT500 can compete on a road course like this car can. Its quite a steal you found!
So yeah, my advice is lift the car and look at the tranny pan. Make sure its not covered in fluid. The o-ring leak on the tranny is pretty much guaranteed for all crossfires at some point, as well as mercedes'. What promotes the leak is constant sitting still. So definately check that out. Its a quick 20 minute job at the dealer or, for later when you're out of warranty, an hour in your garage. So take a quick peek under there for a piece of mind.

Re: SRT-6 Performance Question
From what I read on the Internet (which we all know must be true ), the 2006 SRT-6's were special order only ... in any case, I could not find one for the life of me for sale during my searching.
Having been a long time fan of the Crossfire, I became a bigger fan with the SRT-6 model release. With a recent job change, I decided to take the plunge and located my '05 never-titled SRT-6 with 98 miles on the odometer.
The amazingly sick, but also depressing thing, is what I paid ... Sticker was $45,600 ... I paid $25,500 (in late June 2008). The dealer actually had to call me after the weekend to speak with his partners to see if he could actually do the deal he offered me. It is a bit sad that such unique vechicles are being sold so much under sticker, but unfortunately the Crossfire is a very niche market with not many folks like us in it (apparently).
I'm used to getting new cars for under invoice, but $20K under sticker I will never see again, and never for such an incredible ride!
