Default 50% off chrysler service contract

Got a post card in the mail offering this deal. Seems like a good deal if I don't sell my car and chrysler doesn't go bankrupt. Anyone else get one?

Compare the prices to www.chryslerservicecontracts.com. If it's cheaper, and you don't use the card, send it my way. I want to upgrade my 8yr/80K warranty to the Max Care.

I went to that site and received this:
Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

How much have people paid for these contracts?
I understand it varies from dealer to dealer and since I pick up the car on Friday I''d like to be in a knowledgeable position to negotiate.

I understand there's a posting out there on the controversial issue regard what's covered and what's not. However, here's my contribution:

I got an extended service contract with Chrysler for $1,200 (after the 50% off). It's the Max Care warranty with $100 deductible for 7years/70k miles. The literature I have states you can receive a Garmin (Nuvi 255W) navigation unit with the purchase of a service contract, however, if you get the Garmin, the discount is only 25% off. Not worth it to get the Garmin obviously since the unit retails for $200 and you can get it way cheaper even if you shop around. The number I called was (800) 639-6366. Offer ends Dec 31st, 2008 and there's 0% financing on the deal.

With the way chrysler is looking right now, I think I might just go get a warranty through my credit union.

Oh an extended service contract, so instead of getting "Sir, that sound is normal" ending at 33K miles, you can get "Sir, that sound is normal" at 70K miles.

Wow where do I sign up?

So does anyone know if Chrysler goes bankrupt will anyone honor the warranty?

If Chrysler goes chapter 7, then there's no-one left to honor the warranty. If it goes chapter 11, then I don't see how legally they could get out of warranty claims, unless they are not able to come out of chapter 11 without being dissolved.

I won't comment on the possibility either way.

SRT POWA: The Chrysler Extended Service Contract that you received, is it just the Drive Train Warantee or is it the "bumper to bumper" warrantee?

I doubt they will file chapter 7. If they file chapter 11 they still have to honor warranty
