ok, we have enough here in stock to cover all the intake manifolds going out and have extra's for those that want their factory manifolds to properly seal over stock boost.

those with phenolic spacers.... your leaking and loosing power because of it. phenolic sheets that spacers are cut from are not flat like a decked surface and the oem gasket cannot compensate even at stock boost.

 

Will this fix the problem using your gaskets with the phenolic spacers?

 

yes it will seal up the phenolic spacers, we tested on both 3mm and 6mm spacers

These are actually REAL gaskets. The OEM stuff is like paper in comparison. This may solve a lot of boost leak problems out there.

I haven't used them, but have seen them and the quality is top notch.

 

.....or you can rough up the phenolic surfaces and apply rtv.

 

The thin factory gaskets did seem pretty weak considering what they are required to do. Those look stout...

I received two sets of factory gaskets to sandwich the phenolic spacers and (knock-on-wood) have not had a leak yet.. (22 PSI)

 

does this apply for the 'code 3' phenolic spacers too????

 

yes it will fit those also
i wont name companies that we tested but we tested both 3mm and 6mm spacers

what makes you think your not leaking?

 

do you have any datalogging or any data to show boost leak with stock gaskets compared to the new gaskets?

 

i have stock mani w/ stock gasket datalogs and new mani with new gasket datalogs but once we realized the stock gaskets wouldnt seal when we were pressure testing our prototype mani's (before they were ever installed on the car) we knew we needed to make our own. at that point i had a couple customers send in their spacers to test as i suspected the issue before they even arrived here. this isnt an end of the world type issue but to solve that problem for as easy as swapping in new gaskets is well worth it in my opinion. we have known about this for several months now but i wanted to make sure we had the gasket material tested and we had enough cut for the manifold group buy guys before i posted and put them up on our website.

also here is a nice tidbit for you guys, we tried 2 different (well known and recognizable) companies "intake manifold" gaskets and the things leaked right thru the gasket material, WTF

this is our 7th gasket material we have tested before being satisfied

 

Are these gaskets the exact same size ID as stock? bigger? smaller? I just finished gasket match porting my manifolds and the S/C to the OEM gaskets.

 

they have larger ports as they lay on the table, once installed and compressed they expand out to match the stock gaskets

 

I think perhaps he's saying that, since he's hitting 22 PSI with his set-up, he probably doesn't have a boost leak. When reading this thread, I immediately wondered the same thing... I have a completely stock intake (except drop-in K&N's), a 181mm LET crank pulley, LET phenolic spacers w/ OEM gaskets, and datalogged 20.7 PSI the last time I was at the track. If the OEM gaskets are leaking the way you say, what PSI *should* I be hitting?!?

EDIT: I will say, when installing the 3mm spacers, I noticed how weak the OEM gaskets are - yours do appear to be much better, and very reasonably priced

 

im not sayign there are big gaping holes, when we spray down the gaskets under pressure with soapy water they bubble all the way around. whne we disconnect the air regulator to the setup the pressure quickly bleeds out. the pressure we lose is the pressure we arent makign power with. remember the motor is just a big air pump, the more efficiently we get the air in and out the better we do. ill post up some vids for you guys to see the pressure checking/bubbling as no one else has this setup as far as i know.

 

also if your car is bone stock and you do not race with it leave it alone and enjoy the car. for those of us drag racing were fighting for every tenth of a second we can get

anyone in on the intake manifold group buy will get 2 full sets of gaskets included so no need to purchase them.

 

I tested my intake components with Carb cleaner when I re-installed my SC (vacuum) and used soap and water (Boost) when I was on the dyno.

 

Soooo.. Are you saying a car with the NW intake and a code3 s/c pulley is most likely leaking boost out the stock gaskets?

Or are you saying those with spacers are the ones leaking...

 

im not sure how you could see or spray the perimeter of the main flange of the intake manifold when at full boost while on the dyno with the sl55 intake system on the car but then sure, ok, you dont need them, your sealed.
