Talking Taaa Daaa with a few more drinks we can get belted

I did a search and the 4081145 fan belt is the same size but has two measurments. Yes the effective length is 114.5" and the outside is 115.3". Hope this solves the confusion that we have been re-hashing about belt lengths.

Look down the listing and youll get all the data about it that you may want, Enjoy. Woody

Are you saying you are under the impression the belt picks up 4/5ths of an inch on the outside of a belt that has a total thickness of less than 5/32 of an inch? I am sorry apparently the phrase "do the math" will not work here but use common sence. That is far from an accurate statement. Please re-think or re-messure and try again.

I think maybe YOU should do the math. The formula is circumference = 2 pi r. By "doing the math" the difference in radius is .13 inch. 5/32 of an inch is .17 inch. I think that is pretty close to the ideal numbers considering variabilities in making something out of a rubber compound. Also, learn how to use a spell checker ( re-messure ).

Considering driving on the inside edge of Daytona can net you about 63 laps in an average racecar on 1 tank of gas while driving the outside of the track can net you about 51, yeah I'd say measuring the inside and outside edge of a fan belt this long can definately result in almost an inch difference.

And I didn't even break out the real math to know that.

Mike, I think common sense escaped you on this one.

Please refer to the chart on the link which has listing for the effective and outside measurments provided for each belt. These are not my numbers, its the manufactures specifications.

I was taken back by the Zillions of belts in the market place, phew.

Woody ENJOY its friday.

Why don"t you go back and read your own sarcastic remarks to Waldig. And yes; I did recently change the belt on my SRT 6. That is why I understood all the confusion about the belt. I do not think some one such as Waldig deserves such disrespect from some one like you after all the work he has done for this forum. That is why I said what I said. It is not that he is always right but if you think he is wrong then say something more constructive esp. since you apparently did not do your own " homework". If you are going to demonstrate your acumen on the subject then at least show us you know how to spell simple words. Your vulgarity says it all. ( Kiss my...)
