Your Next Dyno Session
Next time you dyno can you run a little experiment?
I kick myself for not running this test last week when I was on the dyno so maybe you can do it and shed some light on a question.
With the SRT setup (before or after your pulls) and at idle, watch the SC pulley and then ask the operator to slooowly raise RPMs, very slowly, like granny going to the supermarket on her last gallon of gas. Have him hold it at 500 rpm, then slowly to 1000, then 2000 etc...and see if and when the SC clutch engages.
Then, with the SRT back at idle give it a brief but hard punch of the throttle (load) at see if the SC engages...
Just a simple test with the eye ***** in a controlled environment.

Waldig and Steve Hellums have installed LED's to display when power is being applied to engage the SC clutch and IC Pump. They say the SC in on almost all the time no matter how it's being driven.
So to test the common theory - if an SRT6 is on the dyno with the hood open - and the operator eases on the throttle - one can observe when or if the SC kicks on, and if it does kick in during easy, light driving, at what RPM?
If not - when you stomp on it (Add Load) does it kick on.
I think we all know the SC will kick on from a dead stop if you romp on the gas from idle. But what about at mellow 2K RPM and then jump on it?
Just a test to see if the SC is "load required" to activate...
