I think so, since I have a roadster and like the top down when I can...I will keep reading the posts...and will pay attn to the amg gauges you were talking about...temp, boost, not sure for #3...SC is a new thing for me...still learning...I am watching, reading, learning...I like the looks of your product...and I mentioned before, my friend w/ the Soltice paid a lot more for his custom 1 of a kind pod...

Has anyone heard from JR? I PM'd Jonathon on Tuesday and have not heard back from him. I am curious if our pillars and pods actually shipped back to us this week and when can we expect them? Tracking numbers?

That’s disappointing. Jonathan posted pics of completed pillars on Sunday and they have sat there for 4 days and now will sit there for another 4 (Holiday Weekend)? I realize that some are waiting on gauges to go in there, but those of us who did not order gauges should have shipped……

Hey jonnyangel04, I like others would be interested in the pods and gauges you will be supplying. First I would like too say the pictures of the pillars look terrific. You should be commended for your work! I have 2 cars that I'm working on, restoring my TTRX7 and the SRT. I like keeping my CC at a 0 balance. So I use cash for all purchases. The CC is for emergencies only. To that end I hope this will be a product you continue to make. My time frame is Jan or feb of 09, so if you will still be making these I would be buying then. Also this will give me sometime to see how everyones have come out. Keep up the good work.

 

We've both been away from the shop since Sunday evening. We both have work during the week and do this at after that and on the weekends. It just happened to be a week that neither of us could be at the shop. We can't ship them out the second we get them back from paint. They need to sit and air out before we wrap them up and ship them out or we run the risk or the paint reacting with the packaging. Neither of us have had a chance to get them packaged up and shipped out. I'm back in town today and we will be there finishing stuff and getting your pillars out. Pillars with gauges will go out this weekend as well.

Dude, Our gauges are so good, they install themselves. jk. i wished they installed themselves as some of it is time consuming. Definitly worth it in the end though. Gauges in, gauges being finished tonight/tomorrow morning, gauges going out with pillars this weekend!!!

All of the pillars (accept Dave's) went out Fri and this morning. I have tracking numbers for those that want them. I had to ship USPS because the UPS store is like 45 min away. I spent a ton of money on packing supplies and fabric to wrap cover and secure these. Lol if anyone tells me that their pillar didn't arrive in the condition it left my shop I am going to go postal .

On another note, some people have been asking about the trimming issues. Our gauges require a little bit of trimming to the back side of the pillar. Others do not. For instants 240's AEM gauges fit just fine with no trimming. We decided that we are no longer going to do the trimming unless it specified in the order. Really I think trimming only needs to be done with our longer digital gauges. Some of you (TVT, and Ichon) will receive a trimmed pillar because your pillars were made back when people wanted the inside trimmed. Not to worry those who ordered our gauges notching out the pillar is easy. All you need is a drill and drill bit, or rotozip/dremmel. Also Those who do not need to trim, everyone will still need to drill holes for their cables like i specified earlier.

For those who need or want to trim for gauges
1) filp your pillar over and drill a hole where you think the center of the pod is.
2) use a larger drill bit and slowly watch from inside the pod (top side of pillar) where the drill bit is carefully making sure not to nick the sides of the pod OR DRILL THROUGH THE POD. At the end of the day it should look like this.
3) WHEN installing some gauges IT IS A TIGHT FIT WITH THE TRIPLES TAPE THE ENTIRE PILLAR OFF on the back side of each pod to insure you will not scratch it putting the gauges in. ANY GAUGE CAN GO ANYWHERE but the boost gauge is usually the shortest sometimes it is easiest to put that in the center.The pod rights may need some light sanding, some will others wont. Gauges are usually 2-1/16 the opening is 2 inches plus paint so..... some sanding maybe needed others will like the tight fit and not sand at all.
4) Lastly do not put the gauge all the way in until everything is connected and the gauge is in the position you would like it to be. They are hard to pull out and twist once they are seated all the way in. YOU may think you have the gauge all the way in but it is not all the way in until the ring sits flush against the pillar.

PM me if you have any question I will give you my cell number I have no problem walking anyone through this over the phone or answering any questions. here is the trimming with the gauge in the back. This was the first one I did (mine) so I did some extreme trimming. Once I was done I realized I did not need to do that much trimming at all.

 

here are some pics of other pillars, just to get a good idea. BE SLOW and patient, I would hate to get a call saying I put a drill bit through my pillar. I hope the information isn't overwhelming, I am slowly learning you cant please everyone. Those who are doing their install themselves are laughing at me posting this right now, those who are paying someone to have these installed with gauges this also is a no brainier for the shop you are taking them to.
