stock cams will be going back in, we tried to get a few companies to grind us some but it wasnt cost effective for such low volume.

there isnt much of a group seeing as we only have 1 extra set of cores, im not sure if anyone would want to go this far with their car, we should be getting a baseline before install soon, if we dont break 400 on the baseline i'm more then confident we will with the heads installed.

And 10's or better without an extra power adder, 100% no chance regardless of engine work. Too much computer involvement in the rest of the powertrain.
ya i don't think we will see 10's, i'm not even looking for 10's as i won't cage the car, nor do i think anyone else would either. were shooting for 11.49's and i'm content with that for a daily driver

Rob, hit me up later on AIM or text me... I have a set of stock cams I can borrow and send in for regrinds... I also pulled the trigger on schrick cams a few weeks back but they are damn expensive.

Funny when I stated a while back, that with a supercharger and the way the head is laid out I don't think there would be much to gain from porting/polishing you told me I was wrong. I originally stated 8-10hp would have been my guess. Now you state maybe 15. The factory heads and runners are pretty damn good. Unfortunately if you are trying to squeeze out every last drop you have no choice. It really isn't cost effective at this point.

I think your taking the 2 different post out of context. Post #1 Was referring to the mod as not worth it ( and maybe your right, $2000-$2500 for .2 not the best investment) - it is worth it if your a drag racer and want some more time shaved off your 1/4 and you've got crazy cash or can do it yourself, as I did and Rob probably did atleast his own R & R, after all where else are you gonna get power after you've added all the after market stuff available? My car is about .2 faster than the other recorded times I've seen, due to porting/polishing I believe, because not much else seperates alot of us, there are several 11.9 and 11.8's out there, most mods similar/same.
Post#2 was a guy saying 10's and beyond! Then I say no it ain't all that, maybe 15hp, but that does not make it a worthless mod. Just not what what was being expressed. It may even be up to 30hp? I don't know, I don't dyno after everything I do to my car, because sometimes I'm bored and just mod then go to the track ( because the track is closer than the dyno). I also believe this car can't achieve a 10 second run without a different s/c or turbo or the enlistment of n2o. A while back I said this car will not dyno 400 + whp without engine work and/or a different power adder and so far it's holding up ( people jumped all over me, like yes it can, just wait, well that was in late 07 or early 08 ) I know I'm not a genius but I do do this for a living. One of the companys I own is a 15 bay auto repair/perfomance center just outside the nations capitol.

dont mean to thread hijack....not sure if the dyno matters.i just put down 350whp and 359wtq on a dyno dynamics (heart-breaker dyno) on 91 octane in 80+ degree heat in AZ (bad DA). I think i could with headers and a tune for 93 octane, i would hit 400whp on a dyno jet at sea level. lol....lots of speculation there ik ik lol

There's one in each cylinder head......hence "cams".

I don't recall specifically saying only NeedsWings was going to be in the 10's, nor did I say it was only because of these heads. I was talking in general.

The trend over the past couple of years is roughly a second every summer. Last summer was about the 11's. I expect to see a few cars in the 10's this summer. 10.99 still counts as 10's doesn't it?

Absolutely, hey I'm not trying to be negative , just saying once you get down into the 11's every tenth is a HUGE deal ! And 10's without some serious engine work and or a different/extra power adder ain't happening. But 11's are pretty serious times, this puts you out there with the big boys ! And is something to be very proud of. A 10.75 second pass @ 125mph in a 3400lb. car requires about 500hp at the wheels versus a 11.95 pass @ 117mph in a 3400lb. car requires 360hp at the wheels. You see my point? Not trying to be a ****, just trying to help some that may not understand that. Where are the 140hp gonna come from? I predict one new person will hit the 10 second mark this year and he'll be spraying nitrous.( BDJ's Racing ) Besides, not everybody want to go that fast, it's hard on the car for one, different DA's to deal with,gotta do a roll cage/bar and run slicks, then you gotta get a trailer etc.... Is that what the braided line is under the t-body? If you remember my old posts about spark plugs, remember to close that gap down to .028-.032 and use copper preferably. I wasted several days at the track before getting it right, between the boost and the juice you can blow your spark plug flame out. But it's dam* fun when you get it right ! Good luck.
