Racing my FIRST quarter mile
Racing my FIRST quarter mile
Last night I took the Aero down to Woodburn Drag strip (about 30 miles) to try my luck at the 1/4 mile and see what the car would do. The GF's neighbor races there and went with me to show me what, how and where. He went down the track with me on the first run and it was okay. 13.533 seconds at 104.55mph. I did two more runs back to back. #2 was 13.188 @ 109.11 and #3 was 13.235 @ 109.02. I let the car cool down (or try too in the 82 deg heat) for forty-five minutes and made another run of 12.961 @110.14 but red lighted at -.210. Run #5 was thirty minutes later and 13.501 @108.21 and red light again. I got the engine shaded with the hood and let it sit for an hour. The temp was dropping and into the 70's. Run #6 was 13.63 @ 107.74 and my last run #7 was 12.921 @111.51. See the attached sheet for all the details. I as happy with that and called it a night. I learned a lot and had a good time and the car did pretty good. I will pull the ECU now and send it to LET for tuning and put the Iridium plugs in and then Dyno and race again. This is kind of FUN!!
Of course no one at the track had ever seen a Crossfire or SRT6 run and were pretty surprised at how quick it was.

Re: Racing my FIRST quarter mile
Track elevation is about 600'. I need to go later in the evening and run also. I was there last night from 4:00pm to 6:30pm. It was starting to cool down nicely by 6:30pm. C ould also take a cooler of ice to work on the SC. My next mod looks like it will be the BrianBrave IC system seperation. He dropped 50 degrees on his coolant I believe it was with that change.
