Can we take our cars to a Mercedes Service Center??
Re: Can we take our cars to a Mercedes Service Center??
The best bet is to find an independent Mercedes Repair shop. I have one near me call Das Autohaus and they have no issue working on it and I'm confident they know more than the dealer. The 2 techs I have spoken to there are actually GERMAN and have worked there for a decade or more. They live/sleep/eat/drive MB. They are great. They call it a Daimler Crossfire

Why is anyone suprised that a dealership wouldn't touch another brands car?
Dodge has Mitsubishi parts.. but you can't take it to a Mitsu dealership...
Saturns have Saab Parts, but you can't take them to a Saab dealership.
Though it might seem snobbish, if i worked for a company, i wouldn't take warrenty work or service work from something that i'm not responsible and so possibly liable for later.

I took my car (40K miles) to a local, well respected private shop to get the top end cleaned out and some fluids changed. The Chrysler dealer suggested I do this and they wanted $700 to clean out the injection system and change the transmission and differential fluids. Too pricey I thought.
The local shop did the same for $500 but today when I popped opened the Y-tube cover that feeds air to the Supercharger, I was looking down at a carboned up butterfly plate. This puppy had not been cleaned out at all. The work was done only two weeks ago.
My point here is, make sure you can trust the one who turns the wrench on your toy. Chrysler, MB, or private shop. I made the mistake of leaving the car at this shop because I knew the owner personally and he has a nationally broad casted car show on the radio. I should never had done that on a first time visit. I should have done what I always do, stand over the mechanic as the work is being done to make sure the work is being done.

You sound like you really love your Ford Aspire. I saw you on there forum too. Your tag was Rump Ranger though. Good luck with everything.

It's just retarded. If you want to get your car serviced at a MB dealership then buy a true MB. I honestly would be embarrassed walking in and asking them to work on my chrysler. I appreciate the SRT6 for what it is, but there's a reason why you pay more for a MB.
Just go to starbucks, and have them make you a plate of pastries and coffee, and take it into the chrysler waiting room with the plasma's, and............... oh wait.

I find it hilarious how insecure some people are to the point they sign up on forums all over the internet simply to get a little bit of attention. Poor guy, he is most likely in his 40's and livng in the basement of his mommie's house. I can see it now "MOM! I want some @#(&#@ cookies! Where the (*&(#$ are my cookies MOM! You know I need cookies when I troll internet forums!"

i agree, you should find an independent shop. in the southeast houston area there is momo's and tom's auto repair. i took mine to allen samuels chrysler for the ignition switch problem. and what a joke. they will be out of business in a year i predict. all of them are dolts. i'll never take any car to them again. i ended up buying the part from them and installing it myself using the instructions on this forum.

Not to be taken the wrong way, but dealerships usually have the worst mechanics with the least amount of training. With independent shops it is their living and bread and butter. Dealership mechanics are getting paid by book hours which usually are written by the engineer/designers that can't change the battery in their own watch, and have no idea what is really involved with the repair. This leaves the mechanic pissed off and just wanting to get the job done so he's not on his dime making nothing, so he shoves it all back together and says F&^k it.
